Hi guys
I have warning lights and sounds coming from my car and was just wondering if someone can help me. When i drive along the following lights come on.
ABS
OIL Light
Traction control
and i think the coolant light
All these are full and obviously its an electrical problem. Could it be a relay switch or something simple? Doesnt do it all the time
Any help would be much appreciated

If your alternator isn't charging well, and your battery voltage drops, it can cause these sorts of issues.
More common though, is a faulty ABS module - the electical part on the ABS unit under the bonnet. You can get changeover ones in most capital cities for reasonable $$ - just look up injectronics on google & find your nearest distributor

Thanks commodorenut
Just wondering though if its the abs module in the box under the bonnet would that also be causig the other lights to come on? because its not only the abs light coming on?

ABS Module when faulty can cause the other lights to come on also and disables traction control and power modes.

When this module fails it does cause other lights to come on. The way it is wired up is like wiring up lights in a series circuit like christmas lights one light fails then no other light works. Well when this fails it prevents communication to quite a few other modules and everything freaks out as now all the modules aren't communicating with one another. Very easy to change over 6 or 8 torx screws from memory and 2 electrical connections. Simple swap over and pretty much it.

Tons of info on this site about VT/VX ABS/traction control modules causing warning lights. Just do a search across the forum using the above, and you'll find a night's full of reading about it.

Hi Guys thanks for the feedback
I have another question. This morning I disconected the harness for the ABS to see what happens as far as the warning lights go. The ABS light comes on as expected but also the traction control lights come on. Is the traction control connected to the ABS somehow because I thought that if the ABS is disc then all the other lights should be fine.
Any help would be much appreciated

Yes the traction control uses the same abs wheel sensors to detect any loss of traction. :)

Thanks guys
Last question I have is whether there would be a place around Melbourne I can go to to get a secondhand ABS Module. I have been quoted $720 but wondering if i can get a secondhand one fitted?

$720 is what you would pay for a new one from Holden.
As I said above:

Give them a call & find out if they'll do it for you, or if they have a distributor/reseller workshop convenient to you.

I bought a reco. one from a guy on EBay then swapped it over myself (very easy).
I think the price is now $185+$10 postage and you have to send your old one as an exchange.
Search EBay under "VX ABS Module" and you should find the listing.

These guys do a reco unit, you could get in touch with them.
They guarantee their units and they supply Holden dealers, spare parts shops all over the place.

(check out their page for distributors.)
I have used a couple of their units on cars with no problems. :goodjob:
There is also someone selling reco units on ebay, as said above in this thread. He is much cheaper and some guys on the forum have bought them and been happy as far as I am aware. :goodjob:

Just a bit of insight. Into what actually happens. The ABS modul internally short circuits and instead of a 5v reference at that ECU pin it gives 12v(battery voltage) therfore making your dash look like a suburb at Christmas time
