I have been doing a bit of research into having the OBD-II info displayed on the LCD screen in my VE but so far havn't come across anything that stands out. Has anyone done this?

I came across these guys http://magden-auto.com but they no longer sell their units and there isn't any on ebay etc.

Working on something that will do this in general but have not thought of the VE screen yet. Havent had a chance to look into what the interface is for external devices. Any ideas?

Keen on following this thread.

I use GPS lap timing on my Nokia (RaceChrono) for track days/race meets. The software also allows you to connect an OBDII module to get things like
RPM, which gear you're in, engine/coolant temps and the list goes on. All you need for RaceChrono is a compatible phone, a GPS receiver (even if the phone has one they're usually only 1Mhz...What you need is a Bluetooth External GPS, at LEAST 5Mhz - difference being 1Mhz records your position once a second, 5Mhz is 5 times a second and so on. My 5Mhz QSTAR Extreme was $100 (2 years ago), 10Mhz units where right up there about $400 and unless you're super keen (or they've come down in price) they're not really worth it over the 5Mhz unit, less you race V8 Supercars then you'd be running far more sophisticated software/hardware.

Not sure if this helps, basically posted up the info because I'd be keen to see if this would work similar on my car or not and what others are doing to get
around it....

Few last things:
* The iphone has the ability to pick up on lean angles (in relation to motorcycles) so if you're happy placing the phone on the bike somewhere its possible (or will be soon) to get lean angle data, real time against speed, position etc etc.

* had something else to say but forgot doh will update/re-post when I remember
