Hey guys I recently purchased a 67 hr and in the last couple of days it has been misfiring under throttle, I checked all the plugs an leads an they seem to be fine, could it be the coil? Or the carby as it has a small fuel leak around the seal? What r ur guys opinions? Any help will be greatly appreciated :)

Did you check the inside of the dizzy cap for moisture etc. What fuel are you running & have you filled up recently (could have picked up a bit of water).

hey cheers for that pete i tried that but its still spluttering, can it splutter if the air ratio doesnt match the fuel ratio? it like it might not be sucking in enough air cos its only when i put my foot down, if i just keep it steady on the accelerator its ok but as soon as i climb a slight hill or put my foot down it loses all power an is really jumpy an also stalled on me before but it is sweet when its idling, im confused haha.

Have a real close look at the small earth pigtail inside the dissy. Under timing advance, this little wire can become disconnected and lose continuity.
Brings back 70's memories.:)

Did you tinker with the carby before the problem arose ??? If not, it's unlikely to be the problem. Those symptoms sound like a faulty plug lead....

Did you find your problem or you still looking for it?

Is it a stock 179/186, single barrel Stromberg etc?
