Hi guys
Just wondering if someone can help a mate of mine out. He has an XR6T 2004model. On average once a week the engine light come on and the car runs rough or loses acceleration and also sometimes when he is sitting at the lights the revs go up and down. He has taken it to a mechanic and had the sensor in the throttle body changed and the throttle body itself cleaned out but seems to still have the problem.
Any help would be much appreciated

I'm on my 4th XR6T and all have been perfect. (But I race an LS..)
Sounds like your mate has a sensor or tuning issue. Most XR6Ts have been fiddled with so probably not stock

maybe it's an oxy sensor and when they go it puts the car into limp mode.

Dont know what code it gives out mate. Problem is when he gets to the mechanics the car runs perfect. I dont think it shows any faults and the mechanic hasnt witnessed the problem himself.

used to see this a lot at my old job common problem is the throttle body my belief is the sensor or the motor freaks out reads wrong and does stupid things then goes into limp home mode only allowing it to open a little bit. We kept throttle bodies on the shelf as on average replaced one or two a week. Dont remember what code it threw though
