Hi
I've just ordered a set of 22x8.5 for the front and 22x10 on the rear which are billet rims from the states for my ve ss Ute, now i need to buy some tyres for it. I was going to go a 245/30/22 front, and 285/25/22 on the rear.
I'm just wondering whats everyone thoughts on the tyre size for a ute? At the moment i'm still waiting for the rims be delivered to Australia.
Once I've got these i'm still not to sure if i have to roll the rear guards to fit a 10 inch rear ok with without it rubbing on the tyre.
Thanks

What offset on the rear? Could mean the difference between a nice fit or a complete nightmare. :vpo:

im running 295 rears ,you will need to roll the guards to the max ,and remove the flange where the rear bar bolts on to the guard ,and move the bolt back 30 mm,and grind the same flange on the front guard all the way to the bolts.

Hi Brasher
Just want something nice to drive, That's why I'm thinking the profile might not be enough.
Front off set is +48, Rear off set is +57.
These measurements are from the company i got the rims off.
Cheers

heres a few pics ,the flange is behind the guard liner , i cut my guards to the spot welds as i didnt want to risk the guard buckling,

Hi afmss
Do you have any pics off the bolt i have to cut. What profile r u running?
afmss

you wont be able to run any more profile ,they are a tight fit ,but they ride really smooth ,i think the much bigger diameter helps them over the bumps ,most people that ride in my car think it rides smoother than stock

Sorry bud just got the pics through then, did you only cut the rear gaurds to the spot welds.
What off set are they? Nice wheels by the way.
Thanks bud once I've got the rims i will post a few pics of the ute.

i think i deleted the pic ,im running 295 /25/22 rear and 245/30/22 front ,my front rims are 9inch,10 inch rears
once you remove the guard liner out you will see the flange im talking about, remove the screw and keep the spring nut ,just grind that flange back all the way to the guard ,its the main rubbing point, then just drill a new hole 30 mm back from the original and turn the spring nut upside down and re use it,it will make sense when your looking at it

"should" be fine going by my maths.
Will definately need a guard roll, just remember, although tyres have a certain width rating, they are not exactly the same due to certain manufacturing processes and how the comapany measures their widths.
Good luck with it, should look awesome.
