Anyone had wobbling problems after a new balancer was fitted. ( Car has had a couple fitted but still is excessive)

Air conditioning bracket upgrade also done.

It has never thrown a belt.

Thanks for any info

Hey mate, Iv'e had one replaced on my previous VE SS, after it threw the aircon belt off. It was pretty wobbly before it happened, but it's probably due to clutch kicking and hard downshifts that I was advised to use..:flipoff:
Never done it again.
However the new balancer fitted was still wobbly and it was brand spanking new, fitted with new belt as well by holden. The new one never threw the belt off tho,but I was always unsure if it would happen again. The movement wasn't excessive and it's quite normal as I was told by holden technician. I am not sure if aftermarket ones would fix the problem tho..

The main question is whether the actual outer ring of the balancer is wobbling, ir it's just basically a bulge in the rubber making it look like it's "wobbling".
If the outer is running true then you should have no issues.

The balancer on my ss started moving when I only had heads + cam so I fitted an aftermarket jobbie (25% udp) and haven't had a problem since. With that said however, since I fitted the turbo I can't manage to keep aircon belts on the thing - standard belts just aren't the right size with the udp and it even spits shorter ones ( extremely tight fit) off.
Frank @ APS tells me there is some sort of aftermarket AC pulley available which has retainers on the lip to prevent the belt from flicking off again (rev kit or someshit)..
I really should call him and get it done - no AC in this humidity is a bloody shitfull idea.

Does your car have Holden's modified bracket with an idler pulley fitted?
Sounds like it isn't. Should fix your issue, and might be free under warranty (or about $100 plus fitting if not)

Its the outer ring of the balancer for sure and wobbling really badly.

Now been referred to Holden Technical and the regional Holden bloke is to take a look to confirm just how bad it really looks.

Hopefully they will find a solution soon !!
