are you better off building a big lsx block ie 454 or even bigger with good heads ect.

something along theese lines

my personal opinion is to leave boost alone in this warm climate

thanks for the fast replies guys, as i said in the other thread. if i knew the price of an LS3 etc i wouldnt not have wasted time and money on my LS1.

i just want my LS1 stroked and blown.
also the car is used on the street, but mostly lives in the shed. so hot areas doesnt even bother me. if i lived on NSW, i would of went TT.

depends what sort of boost youre gunna run !!!stock crank wont give you the cubes but wont give you probs either on a mildly s/charge combo its more likely the pistons, rings rod bolts, head bolts that will give you reliability in the long run on a mild boosted supercharged application!!!! cheers otherwise feel free to go all out !!!!its all good!!!

Haha, excuss me. but are you having a dig at me?
LOL im not even thinking of slapping the big boy on with out engine work... hence why im asking people on here whats a good stroker kit...

as for boost, i will be running just over 10PSI. i can go lower by changing the front pullies as i have a glimer belt on the rear drive.

LS1 is 3.9 inch bore LS3 is 4.060 bore. Lots of extra potential in hp and flow. Look at super sedan engines. They need Torque to get out of corners, There not using small bore, but 4.155 bores and 3.3 inch strokes with 105 LSA cams and smash strokers for hp and torque as head choice at this level is so good. ie LS7 all pro heads on a big bore.

Sounds like you will spend a lot of money on something that could be a lot better, why not just stick a big stick in a LS1 stick some head studs in it and big fuel system and boost it right up. FI is fine and very consistent in the warmer weather with right tune, engine , spark plug heat range. LS1s are so cheap now you can push some half decent boost in this like 13-14 psi with a 240s cam sounds tough make big power then build another engine in the meantime.

There is a mob in Sydney doing stroker kits for around 2200 with CP pistons callies crank n rods, I will find the details tomorrow.

Nothing stopping you using a cathedral port head on a big bore, so your blower will fit.

ok the plan is now to bolt the blower onto the LS1 and underdrive the blower.

I planing to buy a short block sometime this year and will slowly build that up for the blower.

i will need a new cam for my LS1 so it will let a little bit of boost out the zorst at the lower revs. My question is what size cam should i get? i currently have a Comp Cam 224

whats a good size cam to let boost out the exhuast in low rev's?
i have a 224/228/112 cam, want to have one a little bigger to help the standard LS1 live wiht the big blower.
