Just before I go and get NPC coppermix clutch I wanted to know if anyone could tell me what how fast they've reached 60 ft on the 1/4 mile?? I believe this will definitely make my mind up as to whether I'm gonna get one or not.

If my Malwood lets go, I'm going an NPC after driving yours Jase, it feels good, bites hard but can be slipped off the line unlike a Tex

Cheers,

Millsy

Hold on just a minute there.... you can quite easliy slip a Tex Z-grip. Don't go bagging a product you haven't used.

there are too many variables.

track temp
track prep
tyress
tyre pres
launch rpm
weather on the day

but more importantly car mods

Jump on the band pretty quick don't you fellas?

Each to their own, I've driven a Tex, hence why I went a Mal Wood in the first place

It's called...personal preference

Cheers,

Millsy

Personal preference is one thing. Knocking the ability to slip a tex clutch when you've never raced one down the 1/4 mile is something entirely different.

Gawd, it's becoming yet another Tex fanboy thread...
Some people just can't seem to accept that Tex clutches don't please everyone.

No that isn't it at all. I didnt for one second suggest a Tex was better than an NPC, nor did I suggest that the OP buy a Tex. All I did was defend the Tex when someone claimed that they can't do something which they clearly can. Stopping bullshit at the source, I thought you were a big fan of that PD...

I'm actually reading this thread to see what results people are getting from NPC clutches. It'd be foolish to not look at other options even if I have no intention of changing my clutch at the moment.

Another waste of a thread.......oooh the politics...!!

OP just make your own decision on whats best for U,

fuk what every one else says or thinks, the world would be a shitty place if we did'nt have a difference of opinion

who has a NPC clutch fitted, taken it to the drags, how many passes have you done with it, and what do you think of it.

I pretty much have made my mind up. I just asked another question that was very relative to my final decision.
PD if you don't enjoy reading the certain tread, well...maybe you shouldn't. If I'm spending $2000 on the clutch I wanna make sure that it's the right decision first time. It's called research and asking question and don't say google it... I don't work for holden and I don't have as much knowledge as you do so I'm inclined to ask a question.. I thought this was forum where everyone can ask whatever they want and hopefully get an answer that they've been looking for and not get harassed by some members who spend too much of their time here and think the tread is useless.
It may look or sound useless to you and if you don't like it, well just don't look at it:yahoo:
I asked the question for a reason not just because..

Agree with you Sir Nemesis
cheers

You can slip a z just fine miles. You just can't drop the clutch and not expect it to grab hard. Hell I managed to limp my car 5k's with no throttle the other day. Haven't tried an NPC but I have tried MW's. Bit to stock like with the amount of slip they allow for my liking.

It did a trip to melbourne and back no probs and driving through busy streets around there could not ask for a better clutch for the way i drive and even the wife drives it around town on the occasional squirt for some fun :):)

I asked the question for a reason...

Dude, I don't know what you smoke half the time on this forum, but I was actually trying to protect YOU from the standard Tex fanboy direction most threads take on here. There are negatives to Tex's, and considering you were primarily asking about NPC clutches but not getting many answers at that point, some balance needed to be added to YOUR THREAD! :goodjob:
It is VERY easy to get conned into buying SOMEONE ELSES wishlist on forums my friend, something you would do very well remembering for the future. :yup:
Concentrate a bit more on what is said (and a bit less on sh!t like 5 sec VY threads...:teach:)

like they say personal pref.

i have a z grip myself and its allright but i am looking for something else myself that will suit my body.

Why not put it out there to some people and ask if you can take their car for a drive etc to get a feel for the different types

I have in one of the threads but no one had put their hand out :( hence me asking even more questions.
I dont see anything wrong with 5 sec vy thread. I didn't say we were going 200kmh or racing.. i said we took off at the set off lights and he left me behind as if i was driving a barina.. it sounds like a bit of fun to me..
I've seen few of your comments pd and thats why i said what i said. I'm not that easy to get conned into buying smthng trust me. I would've already got the Tex if I was. I just want to be 100% sure before I spend 2G ;)
But no hard feelings :):goodjob: I've spoken to both Doug and Peter and they both backed their products 100%. Don't really wanna go down twin plate path, so it's between NPC Coppermix and Z. I know they are 2 completely different clutches and that's precisely what's making my decision so farken hard..:1peek:

i went through this same thing a few months back
NPC looks good and there is some good feed back
but there wasnt enough to satisfy me 100% so I went with the Z
