Hey guys just wondering what im in for ive put a ls1 into my vs ute and its booked in on thusday for its engineers report i was just wondering what i am to expect from him . Im pretty sure ive done everything to the book exhaust whisper quiet brakes upgraded vz emission cannister hooked up, and i got a top made to use the factory air cleaner thanks

Pretty sure you just have to meet the ADR's and emissions of the VS and im sure the LS1 would be better on those then the 5ltr so u shouldnt have a problem

What engineer are you using mate ? Ute looks nice too, if its the same one that came up to boom last saturday for a weigh bridge ticket ? I was the bloke working in the pit.

Hey yeh mate thats the ute its going down to consulmotive in sydney johns the guys name i just hope it passes so i dont have to go back down is that your car in your dp jesse

Souldn't have any problems passing, you dont have a bigger cam and heads stuff like that because you have to pass the emissions of the cxar the motor came out of if the motor is stock and stock cats and exahust it will be sweet.

If your going all that way I would certainly be running the whole lot past them before you go. I am assuming you have but just want to confirm nothing has been overlooked.

I dont think you will have any dramas mate.
Only thing I heard was that if you fitted a later model engine to a car, then you had to get an emmisions test to show that car now meets relevent standards for that year. Ie year of engine model, not year model of your car.
What did eng come out of ?
And yes thats my car, still sitting in shed. Should have eng in next couple of weeks. then to fit everything back into it.

Yeh it's all stock stock cats motor was out of a vzss yeh I was just checking incase I may have missed something he only said it needs a brake test noise test and inspect the mods Josh your old man wouldn't happen to be Michael with the twin turbo monaro

yeah mate, micheals my step dad. I just finished fitting a ls3 to that monaro. Goes very well now.:)

Mate you dont need an emmisions test. My mate just put a LS1 into a Patrol no emissions report was needed....ps i am the other guy at boom that you were talking to lol

Depends who you talk to, Friend in sydney just put a ls2 into a vk commodore, one engineer said that going by the rules it had to meet and pass an emmisions test. However another engineer passed it. depends on individual engineer I suppose....

G'day, Im looking at doing a similar conversion, what did it cost for the report? Did you use a kit or was it a custom install?

hey mate mine was all bits and pieces mkal engine mounts and aircon kit i got a bloke from vic to do my loom the starter relocation was from castle autos so was the gearbox crossmember and extractors try making your own extractors because i had to modify the ones i got they hit on the steering rack and on the passenger side i had to fold the chassie rail lip over abit its pretty dear when you add it all up

I just wonder if its easier to modify CAE headers or get customs made. How was the engineer with the notch in the k-frame
