Firstly punctuation dude! and secondly if by walkin you mean walkinshaw, then i'd be look at other exhaust systems that are currently on the market.
They are made by hm/perry and personally i think that they are way over priced for what they are, there's quite a few exhaust threads relating to ve's like these for example.

Without a doubt the best is a KPM http://www.kpmauto.com/tabid/379/Default.aspx
you'll find cheaper elsewhere, if your budget will stretch i wouldn't even think twice, buy it you won't be disappointed.

If you're based in Sydney - then I would suggest you pay a visit to Sureflo (forum sponsor). Their reputation is second to none IMHO.

Not a claim I am prepared to make about any exhaust system when there are so many different variables that people may want.
There is no way one exhaust can suit every one.
Is loud the most important thing?
If its loud does it need to be civilised or will just loud do?
Can it be loud all the time or just when you choose or only at higher revs?
Is performance the most important thing?
Is his ride lowered?
Ute / Sedan / Wagon?
Manual / Auto?
What other modifications have been done or are anticipated
The older (possibly more mature) i get the more what I seek in an exhaust has changed.
My advice for the OP is to establish a budget then listen to as many systems as he can ask, questions of suppliers then make an informed decission.
Some things that apear to be fair generalisations from reading most of the VE exhaust threads (not always 100% true your mileage may differ)
VE's are prone to drone
a 2.5 inch system seems less likely to drone
The more expensive a system is the less likely it is to drone.

Much as I  my KPM system, what Stu says is right. Different people have different tastes so before making a potentially expensive mistake (as many on here have done before which is why so many used systems come up in the classifieds) listen to as many as you can before handing over your money. Do NOT rush into it.
Be aware that extractors/cats and cams can significantly affect how a system sounds, so if you are looking at catback only it is misleading to listen to cars with extractors or cams. In VE there can be a difference between sedans, wagons and utes as to how it sounds from the inside, so preferably make sure you get a ride in whatever yours is to hear from the inside.
There are also significant differences between VT-VZ and VE systems, so absolutely pointless listening to VT-VZ systems.
I also believe Walkinshaw systems (if that's what you meant) are just HM systems.

good point but i'm yet to hear of anyone that doesn't like the sound and look of the KPM
KPM does and meets all of the above you mention, sounds the best IMO, looks great, GUARANTEED NOT to drone, it is expensive but the best usually is.
It fits up nice and tight underneath so lowered cars are not really an issue, if serious mods are to come brand is not the issue size is. ie. 3" instead of 2.5".
KPM all the way...

Is this really another exhaust thread. Do a search, spend some time reading and then post a question thats maybe a bit more specific with what you want.

 at Plenty. If brand is not the issue, however size is; why jump on the KPM bandwagon...?
