Hi all..

I've got a OTR which i purchased upon MAFFless tuning my old car(VZ R8)..
When i sold the car i pulled it off and am looking at getting a MAFFless tune on caprice and utilizing the OTR once again.

I am just wondering if there is some kind of coating i get put onto my OTR, to keep the OTR cooler as it's an aluminum one..

This is what mine looks like..

Thanks,

I honestly wouldnt bother. coaing the OTR, effectivly insulating it is only going to delay heat soak. Whislt sitting at the traffic lights you OTR will heat up regardless of coating, the better the insulaton, the longer the OTR will take to return to an ambient temp whist air is passing through it.

To give you an idea,I run the same OTR, I will normally get 1-2C hotter then the ambient temp whist driving, wihile sitting at lights the intake temps might go up a bit but once driving again they quickly come back down. since running my power steering cooler I notice my intake temps are about 1C higher but that is due to some of the intake air passng through the PS heat exchanger first.

I did mine mostly for appearance / aesthetics, however, do believe that some heat-reduction benefit resulted.

Dont even bother. It's not like the air sits in your otr and warms up for a minute. Don't waste your time, there is nothing wrong with what you have.
