Harrop brakes & 17 inch rims

Hi Guys,
I have just purchased a full set of harrop 4 spot calipers which are an 03 HSV GTO for my VK track car. They didn't come with rotors, so I've got to get a set, but I'm running 17 inch rims and it seems these things use a 343mm rotor.

So my questions are :-
1. does a 343mm rotor fit under a 17inch rim?
2. If not what size can I use if it is possible to do so?

I'm not sure on the Harrops, but with my 343mm 4 spot AP rears, it really depends on the wheel. Most aftermarket ones will fit but all the Holden/HSV ones are too chunky on the inside and foul on the caliper.

I have HSV branded Harrop 4-spot calipers with the 343mm front rotors and used this package because I could the standard VX SS 17 inch wheels so yes you should be okay there. Harrop also say on their website that the minimum wheel size for that set up is 17 inch.

I was under the impression that 17-inch wheels could only fit over the rear brakes, not the front? The front requires 18-inch wheels minimum

Some 17s do fit fine. I had (strill have) ROH fury wheels in 17x8 and they work fine front and rear with the Harrop 343mm 4 piston brakes.
The fury also clear the rear AP racing 343mm (Not front but dam close). Not a bad option for larger brakes.
As for what stock wheels fit in 17s I can not comment as I only used 18s other than the furys.

When i was running the Harrop 4 piston 343mm/315mm kit i could run VX SS 17" wheels with clearance (not much though).

When i upgraded to AP6 piston 362mm fronts and AP4 piston 343mm rears, i COULDNT fit the VX SS 17" over the rear.

So Harrop 343mm will fit under 17" Holden wheels, AP 343mm will NOT. They require 18"+.

For what its worth, the VY SS 18" wheels will clear the AP6 piston 362mm front brakes.

All information is for VT-VZ ONLY. I have NFI about VEs :confused:.

Heading a bit OT here, but I have had 17"s over my 343mm 4 spot AP rears, just not Holden wheels. A lot of aftermarkets will fit, you don't necessarily have to run an 18" wheel.

Not quite. I tried fitting them behind my 17" International rims and no can do.

Even the HSV 330mm fronts mean I have to run knock on weights to avoid caliper strike.

VXSS 17s & I believe VYSS 17s also seem to fit fine with the 343 Harrops but not all Holden 17s.

Thanks guys. I have after market rims so I'll measure them up and see. All else fails & I'll have to purchase some vy ss rims! I really need these brakes!
