Been trying to find a servo that has E85 at the pump in the western suburbs of Melbourne. Any recommendations?

Aside from that, what is to stop suppliers mixing 50% ethanol and 50% 98? I've heard that servos have a range that the fuel mixture has to meet and not an actual set mixture ratio. Could lead to issues if the car gets tuned on genuine E85 and gets a batch of 50- 50 one day

I had a recent list but can't find it atm but there are more. United supposedly are good and are true E85 - The future I don't know. Caltex mix theirs with 91oct and vary from 70-85% ethanol. It's a bit of a hassle to have a daily driver car on reliable E85 atm unless you have tunes to switch between.

Check out Elf and Martini racing fuels for drums. There are some workshops around Vic that stock the drums now the only one I know of is Herrod Motorsport.

is it true that United also offer a 110 octane Premium blend?

They do have a 100 octance E10 fuel at the locations below:

I tried it out last year but didn't really like it that much compared to normal pump 98...

I put two full tanks of Caltex E85 in our VE SS SER II.

Car runs at 21lt per 100 on the trip computer around town.

Compaired to 13-14 per 100 on PULP 98.

I'm also located in the western subs of melb, found e85 at two locations:

Hoppers Crossing United which is on old geelong road.

Caltex on Gordon st, in footscray (the road used to get to highpoint off Geelong road.).

But they really need a caltex doing e85 more west. Maybe altona north off the freeway, or werribee somewhere....

Don't think any geelong petrol stations stock it yet. Bit poor really, plenty of sii commos getting around there now!

WOW!! 8-9L/100km difference with e85...i'm about 3-4L/100 difference. Are you smashing the pedal lots more with e85 as that is quite a difference.

I have to agree, the car is new only has 2000ks on the clock. I was going to ask the dealer when it goes in for its service if the fuel consumption is excessive. By the looks of your responces it is.
Its the wifes car, I cant see her giving it a hard time. Hmmm may have to zero the trip computer before her next drive me thinks.

I've been to the caltex on Gordon st basically weekly since November and the e85 (flex fuel) pump is always OUT OF ORDER. i will ask the bloke about it next time.

I usually get my e85 fix at the caltex in tullamarine, sharps rd i think it is.

I think I fixed the fuel consumption problem; I was looking under the bonnet today and noticed the boot to the throttle body was a hanging off and the hose clamp was loose as. "Good old Holden quality control".:vpo:

The boot was squashed around the TB on the underside. I suspect it was letting air into the TB after the MAF. Car had a lag on acceleration which has now gone. Lucky I found it now before I had done any dirt roads.

Yeah, hopefully that has cured it for you!

I'm currently at 8300km and this tank of e85 is running about 48km/h average and 16.1 L/100km (I reset every tank). I'm sure it'll go up to about 18 L/100 or more, when my average speeds gets down to my normal less than 40km/h in peak hour traffic :(

the caltex E70-85 is Junk compared to the United except the United Blend is only available at 1 servo in melbourne..

united blend has been tested at over 90% ethanol so for performance its great..

Only shitty thing is that in the last couple of months its gone from 99c a Litre to 1.09 to 1.19 which is a bit sh!t.

No shit, the last time i used it it was 99cpl, now i got a couple of jerry cans full at 129.7 yesterday. Will still use it, the benefits outway the price :)

Btw, i had E85 sitting in my tank for 6 months without use. Car fired to life with no ill effect today. Even all my fuel lines were perfect.

Filled up also at Seaton last night, as ive just recently changed to E85. Going from 98 for my VZ TT to 85 is a big diffrence in what you pay...although in saying that, it drinks alot more on 85, but who cares its still cheaper and more power...

From what I understand on this, Holden recommend not to do it, but there have been threads on here where it is suggested that there is little that needs to be changed. Try search

Mechanically stock. Just the tune. Injectors can just cope with it.
