As the title says....im after some ideas on what would be the lumpiest cam to put in a ls3 with a T51R? not so fussed on power gains I just want it to work well with the turbo but more important to sound mental....turbo has a 1.05 rear housing and car is manual......if u need any more info let me know. Are any of the turbo grind comp cams suitable?

You will find that most FI cams have a LSA of like 115+ and a nice lumpy cam is about the 112lsa mark and so forth. Whilst you may get a lumpy cam it will have negative affects on the power gains to be had from the turbo
231/247 at 113LSA would probs suit your needs and have seen this in a L98 with a full exhaust and a decent highstall pull 11.73 on a full weight SS Wagon. Sounded awesome.

F**k i must be going blind ignore my previous question feel like a goose.
Yes I actually have to go see an optometrist.
Turbo cams are actually one of the hardest cams to spec up there are a lot of variables and often putting a camshaft in doesn't give the results. Put one in that is too grumpy and car will actually go backwards than when it had standard camshaft.
My recommendation is keep the factory cam can spec a cam up to suit your car but all in all it gets to the point of not really feeling the rock at idle.
For turbo looking at 115-117 lobe separation hence not so grumpy but when will actually net better results.
Save your money dude

Go as big as you want.. When you have 4 billion KW's leaving 20 on the table isn't a big deal.

I'm running a comp 236/242 112lsa with a T51R on my LS1M6, the cam is very NA and probably not what many people would recommend but I'm rapt with the setup. With a turbo grind I'd make a bit more power as the current cam is holding back the power but by the sound of it your chasing what I was and I couldn't be happier.

6.2ltr allows u to go a bigger cam with the ability to hold more driveability. Best thing you can probably do is go to your tuner and tell them what you want and get them to nut it out cos everyones gonna tell your 239080938204 different things which isnt gonna help.

If you want it to sound 'mental' and work properly then stick around a 108 - 110 lobe centre square on 250/250 or similar and dont become one of the sheep :)

I have spoken to a few more ppl and have been recommended a 227/243 @ 114 what do you guys think? The fella seemed to know what he was talking about. He said you don't want to go to big on the inlet side as on the ls3 6.2 as the piston clearance is fairly tight but he did mention you can go fairly aggressive on the exhaust side and together with his head porting should work well??? does this sound right?

I was always told the L98/L76's and LS3's like the big split favouring the exhaust being the bigger number so sounds like your on a good path.
