I知 currently in the market for a VZ Calais, I nearly bought one the other day until the sales guy stuffed me around said the deal was done the car was mine only to ring back 10mins later to say sorry it was bought by someone else, long story he痴 a wanker.
Anyway I need some info or a link which says what the differences are between and early 2005 VZ Calais and a later 2005/06 VZ Calais. I know I read something on here before but nothing comes up in the searches. I know at some stage changes did occur that the engines did drop their Kw, did this also apply to the 190 in the Calais? I知 only looking to purchase V6. I know the engine covers changed and the later 190 looked like an early 175. Also was anything else deleted to save money compared to a 04 model? Glove box light or auto dipping mirror comes to mind as things being deleted on later models as i think there was a heated topic on these issues but not 100% sure on it.
Does anyone know a date of when these changes took place July 05?
Any help would be great as I知 currently going off a 2004 VZ Brochure which I have.

I値l just point out the things that I have noticed changed towards an 06 Model. Different engine covers, no more engine badging on the side (V6 Only) the red in the rev limit has disappeared on the cluster. Still not sure on other features, will have to try find a late 05/06 brochure to compare

Any VZ people out there know if the reverse dipping mirror or any glove box lights get deleted towards the end of the VZ Calais run? Also did the VZ Calais throughout its whole run retain both front power seats?

Full electric seats with drivers seat memory is retained, along with the dropping mirror & glove box light.
In the end of the day its still a Calais so that cannot get rid of its key features.
The engine covers, badges etc are all just minor superficial things.

with the engine covers the early 190 looked like they had a plastic part which directed the air into the engine and the later looked like the 175 which was the un-paited alliminum. Am I safe to say that they just stoped painting the 190 black and it actually was alliminum or was it in fact plastic?
Is it better to buy a later 05 Calais then a late 04 early 05 model?

Just buy the best condition one you can find with the options/colour you want.
Most of this detail stuff is really more for trainspotters than having any major bearing on what "sort" of VZ Calais you are getting.

I'm with planetdavo. Once you get in and start enjoying it, you'll forget the minute differences between the years. I love my '04 Calais, only thing I know I've missed out on being an early model is the L76. I can live without that.

read the thread his looking for a V6..
but yeh.. the 06 VZ came with the L76 6.0L machine of a motor =)
04-06 VZ V6 Calais would basically all be the same.
i'd just find anything that would be in good condition with low KMs
there would be a higher chance of finding a good condition low KM 05-06.
as an 04-05 is an extra year or so older.

Guys thanks for all your help on the Calais, but as the Holden Dealer I have been dealing with is a comlete joke he has put me off altogether! So I have great news to share that I bought a Monaro CV8Z with only 50 on the clock instead! Couldnt be happier.
Funny thing is this wank of a salesman rang me again to say he had another Calais come in, so Im thinking I will just play him and stuff him around just like he did with me!
