i tried to fit a cabin filter to day to the ute
to keep the dust out
(they don't come fitted with one )
so i took the screen out so the filter would go in but what a shit fit they don't seal round the side as they are a tad to tall and when you push them in they buckle up in the middle and the sides have about 1"gap they dont have a hard frame just all paper
any one else tried one

Hello Atomic,

Under the windscreen on the passenger side. You have to remove the plastic scrivets and lift the plastic cowling up :)

They only come with a flymesh screen from factory

thanks for the pic
i will see if i can get a oem one
the one i had i got from Holden but it was an after market brand looked the same though
but when you put it in it was to high and scrunched up at the sides and left a large gap on both sides
i recon they should have a plastic frame around them like the fly screen one

I've done a few of these, getting them to sit right can sometimes take a few attempts..

Any particular reason these arent factory fitted?

Are the sedans the same as the ute and only have a flyscreen?

None of my family have asthma so can't comment on that side of things but it has to help. I got one mainly to keep dust out of the vents :) :)

Purely financial reasons you'll find as they do cost a bit. If it added $10 to each car that equates to a massive extra production cost. If they can save 5cents on a part then they'll retool just to do it.

They do help with asthma but block up pretty quick due to the micron sized filter. Should be changed as required, not at the recommended service interval as the operating conditions can vary greatly from car to car.

You can buy them in a Ryco brand as well which is generally cheaper than OEM
