Oh man, get rid of the music and give us the real sound track! I want to see one in the flesh before I judges it's looks.
I'm looking forward to getting off restrictions, selling my 600 Monster Dark and fingures crossed getting onto an 848.

+1. How can you get a Ducati with Termi exhaust and not start it up?! Actually, not just a start up and wussy rev but a ride by the camera would be nice :goodjob:
I'm also looking to trade in my '09 ZX6R and get an 848 Evo Dark Stealth. Just gotta save up a bit more

Anyway :kneel:

Awww.......ewwwwwww

Love the look of the 916/996 models.
Do NOT like the 999.

Do LOVE the Desmo RR but for the price a modded 50K GSXR will wipe it's arse....I know cause my GSXR1000 was 50Kish (20K purchase + 30K go fast/suspension and have encountered quite a few Desmo's at EC now whether it's the owners babying them (In the race group not the slower groups) or not I don't know but they get spanked by litre jap bikes ALL the time.....but if you got 105K and can find one all the best to ya!

Do NOT like the MultiStrada ....esp that front end it looks woeful
AND ..........don't like this one.....sorry mate, it's cool you have a new bike/toy though! :)

Hmmm I am not sure that is my style of bike, but it looks like Ducati have shown HD how to build a V-Rod!!!!!!!!

Horses for courses. I'm over IL4's cos they don't sound anywhere near as sweet as a twin, or even a triple (Crossplane crank excluded). I'd have a Desmo RR over a race prep'd Gixxer any day. Note - I'm not a racer and would never use either bike to its full potential anyway :goodjob:

It'd be pretty lame if everyone had the same taste and we all rode the same bikes

Absolutely agree with you there, horses for courses and it's great we all have different tastes. As much as a lumpy V-Twin gets you worked up, an IL4 with a good system and on song at 14,000rpm does it for me.....I stopped riding on roads after 11 Canberra winters I'd had enough and after a recent blat on a mates TLR I don't mind twins at all.

Glad you've posted pics though, I'd not seen/heard of it before and I'm always up for a chat about bikes :goodjob:

Hi Mate......so any closer to a decision?
Any luck on the lowering link? I saw a WILBERS Lowering link kit for a ZX-9 the other day and reminded me to ask how you'd gotten on......

Hi

I have made a decision and it's going to be the Ducati Diavel.

To CunningStunter: I have found a place called "Promecha" in Westall, Victoria that can do the exact things you mentioned to me in the emails. They seem to be very experienced in setting up bikes and more specifically the bikes suspension to suit individual riders and their riding style.

I also found a motorcycle salesman named Brodie (not a Ducati salesman) that is familiar with what can be done to a bikes suspension to suit individual riders and said he can happily pass on a company's details should I buy a Ducati and get stuck with nobody to goto.

Tomorrow is my birthday and was the date I was hoping to walk into Ducati City in Melbourne and order my red Diavel:)....but at 3.40pm today I am still juggling funds to see what I can do..... It might not happen overnight but it will happen.

Awesome news mate that's fantastic!

Wasn't Promecha the place SuspensionSmith referred to? LOL I can't remember, but I've heard of them before and they get good reviews...but it's excellent you've been given the advice that was initially lacking...!

The very first thing ANYONE should do on EVERY bike (even brand new 0kms) is to take it straight to the suspension shop to be tuned for the riders weight and riding speed/location (track VS road).

A track bike tuned for slicks can cope with much stiffer suspension to take full advantage of the stiffer/stickier race rubber - whereas having stiff suspension for the road usually means they will run wide mid turn due to the forks not compressing enough to steepen the steering head angle.....vice versa for too soft suspension (matched with slicks even worse LOL) in that it'll increase the chances of a low side mid turn...anyhow I better shuddup since my posts are historically too long and sound like me boasting hahaha

Post up some pics of your new beastie when it arrives, keen on hearing how you got on with the lowering link too (so if the question ever arises I'll have an answer!)

Cheers!!

Suzuki 1340cc B-King Vs my Diavel ? Your kidding right?

Those ugly porker bikes struggle to go under 0-100 in under 3 seconds. The Diavel goes 0-100 in around 2.5 (yes that faster than the new 1198)

Wait there is more ;) I have the full Termi upgrade and racing ecu fitted so mines is quicker again...

I'll tell you what.. After I hose you on my Diavel how about I line you up and hose you again in my Typhoon? :burnout:

good greif :spew:

you can quote all the figures you like , you paid $25,000 for your bike and mine cost $15,000 , then you spend another $5000 so it goes faster
The make similar hp and torque stock and yours weighs a bit less .
What say I spend say $5,000 on my king make it lighter and faster , its cheaper lighter and goes faster , and your still stuck with $2000 for a service something I do myself , so just cause you spend more for something made in italy then quote hypothetical numbers to me dosnt make it reality . Nothing against them, personally its just the diatribe people who pay lots of money for something often come up with to make themselves feel superior. :bawl:

ps I didnt insult your bike and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
They both run similar numbers at the strip when stock so I wouldnt put my house on it if I was you...:)

You paid $15K for that ugly POS rice burner? Fcuk mate now I know why your jealous. lol A Hyosung would of been better buy for you :nyuk:

As for servicing. My first major service is due at 24,000kms and I'll probably will sell it before then and get a newer model lol.

People who have no ideas about Ducati's often say they are unreliable when they have never actually owned one or are just plain losers. I suspect you a bit of both.

And speaking about trying to be superior. Why would you pay $15K and bye a POS B-King other than to think you own a wanna be performance bike?

Hi

Come on guys tame it down a little. This is a social forum.

We all know that the Suzuki Bking is a great bike in its own right and was invented many many years ago. The Ducati Diavel however is on a totally different level and playing field and can't be compared to any other bike on the market, even some reviewers are stating that Ducati may have created a new market with this particular model. Yes I might be biased as the Diavel is my dream bike but I can still appreciate the Suzuki Bking for what it is and that is a great bike at a fantastic price where as the Diavel is a brilliant bike at a STUPID price!

Yes all Ducati's are overpriced but I STILL WANT ONE!

hmmm how soon the personal attacks come , A poke turned into a bun fight , I didnt mean to insult u mate I was pointing out , just because it cost more dont necessarily make it faster.

The reason I bought the king (3 years ago) is I wanted the hayabusa motor but Im not into fairings and the king is a little longer than the Busa and that length is in the swing arm and trail , perfect for the use I have for the bike.

Ive been drag racing for now for over 30 years , from Pro Stock to A/Street
and the BKing is one of the nicest track bikes I ever used , and as an added bonus handles like sports bike.

Ive also found , over the years motocyclist are different people , all with one passion motorbikes , some though lean to image over practicality others like the raw look and ride , I like the speed ...DLRA rules , and the acceleration ANDRA rules , so as long as it has two wheels (no frgn scooters) its all good.

Nice bike mate.

I ran into daryl(ex k&m cycles guru) in the pub around a month or so ago and he is now selling ducatis out at gepps cross. He was on at me to come out, leave the tractor, and take one for a test ride for the day. It is very tempting. I love the look of them and think i will be out there soon to take him up on the offer. If i change badges from american to italian will be another story but im very much looking forward to the test ride. Time will tell i spose.

Enjoy your ride bro, watch out for volvos and stay shiny side up!!!

I actually got my Diavel from Italian MCs (Gepps Cross).

They did me a super price (being the first guy in SA to buy one), a great trade and got me a set of Termis from the US and fitted them for free.
I can't highly recommend them enough!

I ride with Daryl on weekends on DOCSA runs. He is a great bloke.

Italians have a Diavel Demo in their shop. Get urself down there and go for a ride. They are a fun bike :woot:

Hi

Do you have any issues with your tail light led color running a US spec Termi ecu with your Termi exhaust? I heard some had the wrong color LED for Australian spec bikes!

What color is the Diavel Demo in their shop? I really want a base model in red.

No Mate - The Tail Light issue fix is a simple re-flash of the ECU

The Demo in their shop is a Carbon Black. I agree, the Base Model Red looks awesome...

Try and find a Demo and get them to package in some Termis. I swear you have never heard any as mad as Termis (with Baffles removed) on these things. They sound like a 2 cylinder Top Fuel car. No shit :nyuk:

Hi

I am guessing it's a reflash of the new Termi ecu? If so who actually reflashed it for you and did the ecu have to be installed in the bike for reflashing?

I can see myself having problems if I import a Termi system from the US and then need it reflashed locally.

You shouldn't need to get the ECU re-flashed. Just make sure when its ordered from the US its the Euro type you want. Not the US spec ECU.

Mine didn't need re-flashing but, you can get caught out if you don't specify you want the Euro Termi setup.
