Hey guys,
I just bought my first HSV just for something different after driving Fords and FPV's since I got my license.
The car is a VY R8 and was advertised to have a Higgins 400kW package which includes heads, cam and all that - and included a dyno sheet for 305kw at the treads. From what I can see with my own eyes it has DiFilippo pipes all the way through, an OTR and possibly a bigger throttle body.
Just wondering whether anyone knows the specs of the 400kW package exactly? It was all done back when the car was less than a year old.

Not sure on what specs come with the package, but it sounds like you got a good score. You would have saved heaps by not doing it all yourself. Maybe try call Nathan Higgins himself and having a chat to him? He should be able to get you some details.

Thanks mate that's exactly the type of info that I was looking for! I didn't know anything about the intake or underdrive balancer, I'll have to compare them to a stocker to see if they are there.

I can't post links until I have 20 posts or more apparently :(
Will get a sound clip of it.
Bit different to the turbo 6's I'm used to, but a change is as good as a holiday lol. Im surprised this thread got so many responses, no one really gives a hoot about newbies on forums these days I thought :P

With that size cam probably some more power to be had with a larger intake and throttle body when you get bored of 300rwkw too :)

Is it just me or is 400 at the crank down to 305 at the wheels a really big loss?
Is the VY R8 a 5.7? Is it a manual or auto?

isnt normal loss 20/25%?
My M6 VY SS Ute had a Higgins package that was producing 405kw at the flywheel and 303kw at the treads. It went bloody well but my standard Clubby has much better manners.
