Stumbled across this on YouTube
Its called The 13's for $1300 its a pretty cool concept basically with a budget of $1300 you have to buy a car, mod it and get it doing 13.99 seconds or less over the 1/4 mile.

Taken from the youtube page
"Introducing Project Bluebird, our attempt at the Performance Forums "13s for $1300" challenge.

The idea is the buy and build a 13-second streeter for AUD$1300. It doesn't have to be registered, just look like it could be. For all the rules check out Performance Forums at: http://performanceforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67262875

Or you can check out the dicussions on the various contestants at: http://performanceforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=69

Our plan is to lighten the car as much as we can, install a nitrous fogger system, and a decent exhaust, and a mini spool for the diff centre. Of course there may be more happeneing, it all depends on how our budget goes and what parts we can get. All the runs have to be done by the end of April 2011."

The one ive been watched on youtube is an EL falcon wont go into too much detail but best time at the moment is a 14.5 not bad a effort considering its only cost $1100 all up at the moment and he has done it all himself at home in his garage.
There's a bit to watch but its worth it :)

That EL belongs to Scott, one of the editors (or something like that) from Street Machine. He is on AussieV8 forum as well, and has the full story up on there. It has been a great read. He had a lot of dramas with it on its maiden run, and after circumstances that allowed them to stay for another day, they managed to break into the 13's

How crazy is this bloke. Using a cut off saw on the ground in thongs. Then the blade fails. Luck was on his side.
