We've been tossing up getting a 2nd car, we were doing nothing today so the missus wanted to go down and check out the new Series 2 Captiva.
Went down to Hunter Holden at Ryde was there for about 10 minutes and started talking to one of the Salesmen Nick told him we were interested in a diesel Captiva and he said would you like to test drive one, so he took a copy of my Licence and gave us the keys and said see you in 30 to 45min.
Was really impressed with the way the Captiva drove and rode really impressed with how the engine seemed to keep pulling going up hills really ate them up.
Took the car back 40min later and sat down had a bit of a chat then went and had a chat with the finance guy Scott. They both knew from the start we wouldn't be buying a car today but they both spent a good deal of time going over everything with us gave us some finance figures and prices.
So after our experience today we have definately made up our mind that we will be going to Hunter Holden to buy our new Captiva we just have make up our minds when we want to buy it and what colour we want since this car is the missus's choice she can't decide between black, white or moulon rouge.
I did find out today that Captiva's and Cruze's are selling like hot cakes they said that every 2nd car they have been selling is either a Captiva or Cruze delivery for Captiva's at the moment are up to May or about a months delivery time from order.
Big thumbs up to Hunter Holden specially Nick the salesman and Scott the finance manager.

When I was living in Sydney I always had my SV8 services at HH Ryde and was always impressed my their professionalism and courtesy.
My last service was the end of my 3 year warranty and they did a complete going over and picked up a couple of things I didn't notice, all covered.
Great bunch of blokes so no hesitation recommending them.

Great to hear a good review. Early last my Mum was in the market for a new car and the Captiva was a strong option. I went to one dealership (Shacks, here in Perth) and said that I was tasked with choosing Mum's car, so was hoping for a chat and a test drive. The rep straight out said, "get your Mum to come here and she can go for a drive, can I help you with anything else?". I was pretty shocked so went on my way to another dealership that's all of 5-10 minutes from there (Melville). Well, talk about service. Straight away the salesman offered a Captiva for a test drive, along with the brochures, and when I mentioned that Mum couldn't get away from work he offered to take the car to her so she could look over it and go for a drive on her lunch break. Needless to say we ended up purchasing a demo model through them :)

That's the same place my VE came from and couldn't be happier now to toss up what new car Kay wants as the Mazda has 140k on it :(:( and will probably go back to them :)/)

The cars are not moving so you will see more dealers open on weekends or public holidays to shift stock, question is, is it worth it when most people have gone on holidays and you are paying penalty rates to staff?
Most Holden sales dep are pretty good, its the service dep that issues arise, especially when there is a warranty claim.
Ford is slowing getting their sales reps into gear, Ive noticed an improvement in their sales approach, maybe its because I was enquiring about a GT, would it be the same if it was a Focus?

I'm glad that this has been brought up. I had similar dealings with nick at HH about a Redline ute in December last year. All was good, got a test drive and he new full well that I would be making a purchase upon my return to Australia in June this year. (currently overseas on business)
Contacted nick via email not more than 2 weeks ago to get some more information about factory delivery timings and some additional accessories I want to add to the ute. Initial email back was very prompt but once it was clear to him that I would not be purchasing the vehicle until mid June, the return emails stopped and any questions I asked were never replied to.
I have sent quite a few more emails in an attempt to even get a little bit of extra information out of them......nothing.
Not sure if I'm being unreasonable but I would have at least expected a little bit of help noting I explained my situation to them in person before I left.
I found it surprising to see that people have actually had some success stories with these guys when the level of service I seem to be getting is below average.
Needless to say, I'll be going elsewhere to buy the Redline when I get back home. :flipoff:
