Hey guys, i have a Ve SS Sedan. I let the fuel run very low one time and ever since i have experienced the car being abit jerky and running weird. Anyone ever had this issue?
I was thinking that it might have had something in the fuel filter. Has anyone changed one before?
thanks

Sounds like you might have some air in your fuel line..

No way! :)
Even if you had picked up some air in there  it would have bubbled itself out very quickly and would all be clear in a very short time. :)

Maybe you sucked up some gunk or sediment from the bottom of the tank and it's clogging the fuel filter or lines? Just a thought.

Thats what im thinking could have happened. I couldnt see a listing on a fuel filter on them at work so im guessing that there part of the pump assembly or maybe genuine only?

Has anyone changed a fuely on a VE SS yet?

fuel filter is part of the fuel pump assembly

Wonky

Shouldn't really be much if any amount of gunk there already I would have thought with a relatively new car given they have plastic tanks now so no rust particles. Unless you've had a few batches of dirty fuel.

Do the VE's run an external filter like the earlier models. Near the drivers rear wheel? I change mine every service cuz it's cheap an easy fir peace of mind.

I pulled my pump out on ute to install twin ASE pump and with 10000k'ms there wer bit's of grit/stuff in tank.

If it's a early sedan 06 i believe there's a plate above the pump near pacel shelf and easy to get to, if not you have to drop the tank as i did in ute not hard but time consuming.

Maybe a injector is blocked???? with gunk

That's a bit silly... isn't a fuel filter a consumable part? Needs to be replaced a couple of times in the life of a car? These modern cars are so inconvenient

Yea im thinking that i may have got one of them dirty batches of fuel :(
well i have put a fuel system cleaner through it just the other day so hopefully this fixes the issue.

Hmm maybe a injector could have some crap in it. Ill get it looked at and see what they say. thanks

Still havent sorted this out :(
Its still jerky around 2000rpm. I had it on tech2 and 1 of my injectors was reading alittle lower than the rest but was told it shouldnt be that?
Has anyone changed there fuel pump setup?

Take it to a mechanic...or Holden...

This has happened to so many cars lately. And 95% of them have been due to contaminated fuel and tend to be fixed by replacement of the fuel filter and in most cases the fuel pump also. It happened to me in my VZ calais, really jerky and uneven reving between 1200 and 2500 and if you floored it the revs would peak at around 4000 and it would just get stuck there.

Anyway, by the time I got it fixed, my mechanic found the fuel filter to be almost entirely blocked. My advice to you is get on it quickly, the longer you put pressure on the fuel pump trying to push fuel through a clogged filter, the more chance there will be you'll have to buy a new one.

Book it in.

Change the filter Check fuel pressure. If still doing it clean the injectors
