View Full Version : VE SSV wheels in 19x9
Has anyone seen or know of anyone who makes the VE series 1 wheels in 19x9?
I would like some wider rubber under the bum of my VE SSV but prefer the look of the factory rims if I can get them.

I would doubt they could even be modified to suit.
I have seen factory HSV wheels split, widend and rewelded but as far as I know thats illegal for street use, and probably not that safe either.

I'd be virtually certain that you won't get them in 19x9 and as you yourself say, split/widened/rewelded wheels would almost certainly be illegal and I wouldn't want to trust them with my life and the lives of other road users.
I just thought somebody may know of a company making knock offs in other sizes kinda like you see with VE GTS wheels.

True, though very popular HSV wheels tend to have copies made (usually only in standard sizes for the model they actually came from) whereas "run of the mill" Holden rims usually won't. :(
Yeah, I might have to spring for another set of rims, I do like the HSV pentagons but 20s might be a bit rough for the country roads I travel on.

Actually, 20s in the VE aren't too bad, even with SSL/SSSL springs and Monroe GT shocks. We live down 1.5km of dirt road which often gets pretty potholed and I don't find the ute that much harsher than my son-in-law's stock VT Acclaim daily I've been using the last few days (which admittedly probably needs new shocks/bushes).

you could probably get some custom/modified ones, but as most have said wouldn't be safe/legal for road use. Just choose some factory wheels like supersport or Hsv rims that you like that already come in that size.

I like the stock look, speak quitely and carry a big stick as they say, the 4G it would cost for a set fo HSV 20s would be better spent on a cam or put towards a supercharger, the missus cant clip the gutter and wreck a brand new camshaft at least.

Yeah, I have seen it done but wont risk the missus and bubs safety on modded rims (same goes for them cheap import rims), they may be ok cruising around town at 60 but at highway speeds.... some things are not worth the risk IMHO.
