Hello Guys/Gals, I did a quick search to no avail.
Any Gurus know the difference between S1 and S2 Vx Calais V8. I have just purchased a S2 and just wanted to know the exact differences if any.(Apart from badging). This will be my new daily and I welcome a 2nd LS1 to the family, I plan to lower her a bit and slap on some HSV 19's I have lying around. Keeping her stock will a mission in its self.
Thanks in advance for your info

VXII Calais had the following
Different front grille
black headlights
silver dash facia (s1 had woodgrain)
different calais badging
rear suspension system now equipped with toe control links
and few other little bits , they where well worth the extra wait time over the series 1

The bit in bold is the most important change, although I think woodgrain in cars (i.e. plastic wood) is horrible so it's good to see that die out of the Calais.

upgraded indicator/wiper control stalks to the thinner/rounder ones.
There was also a wiring harness colour change for the plugs controlling that stuff

From memory also the dash plastics are a dark black colour from the previous grey in the Series One.
I think PD posted the colour name for Series One and Two once but I cannot find it.

The rear suspension changes is the big one to consider.

Any easy way to tell the difference between the two? I have what I think is a think a series 2 but when I had the new tyres put on the guy said there was no adjustment on it! That mean I have a series 1

What colour is your dash cluster? Silver surrounds = S2. All black = S1.
Do you have woodgrain dash surround? If so, S1.
Also not sure if the toe links were adjustable? Assume they would be though.
Basically, I believe they keep the rear wheels straight when the car squats ie under acceleration or when lowered or people in the rear. Without the links I think they toe out a bit and cause the inside of the rear tyres to wear unevenly.

If interior trim (dash aand door panels are grey = Series 1, if black then series II, and as others have said if the heaadlights are all chrome inside = series 1, black finish inside the headlights = series 2, If dash is woodgrain = series1, a silvery grey dash panel is series II.

Were there any cross over models? Mine seems to have bits of both!
