Yes, I know this has been glossed over before, but I can't see any definative answer or fix. Happens when slowly going over gutters and speed bumps etc.

I've had the rear springs replaced a couple years ago under warranty and the creak was better but never went away, didn't bother me as you couldn't hear it with the radio on. Anyway, had car serviced and noticed the creak is back with a vengence - discussions with dealer was to bring it back in and go for a drive with the foreman but unfortunately I'm time strapped and will take awhile before I can get a couple hours free during the week. They're now saying bushes could be the problem and couldn't give me an idea of cost or time - they also mentioned that having the car up on the hoist could have unsettled it (seems strange something simple like that could do it, they did adjust the handbrake but only at the handle - I also noticed they gurnee'd around the wheel arches etc). So, should have these bushes have been done when the springs were done? Car ('06) is no longer under warranty.

Thus, I'd like to arm myself with ideas and if any of you guys know any particular tech releases to do with the issue would be most helpful - just so we can save a bit of time and go straight to thsoe issues. Do any suspension specialists have a fix?

Cheers.

It always happens on the right rear for my car. I had a suspension shop look at it while they did some other work on the car. When I got the car back the squeek was gone & I could smell WD40.

About 12 months later the squeek came back so I sprayed all the suspension bushes with WD40 and the squeek again disappeared. I'd love to know exactly which bush is doing the squeeking though.

A few months back I had Super Pro front swaybar D mount bushes installed and as of a few weeks ago I am getting creaking noises when going over speed humps. Had a look under the car and couldn't see any sign of grease I'm not sure if they greased them properly before install. Anyway the sway bars might be the first place to look

I actually joked over the phone to them that it wasn't the case of some WD40 sprayed on it was it - they joked back I'd have to do it every day.

yeeeeeeeeees... if there is an easy fix, would be very interesting to know

mine does it intermittently enough i don't worry about it too much but after engine and brakes sorted, i'll be off to a suspension shop to check it out and see if they can spot anything clearly out of whack...

Yep, I think its the brake pedal spring. Only really does it when the cars warm

Just a stab in the dark here. Check that your spare wheel is well secured. If the car was just serviced, they might have taken it out, maybe put tyre shine on it, or not tightened down the securing plate. Haven't looked in VE boot-my car's a VE ute, and my wife drives a VZ SSZ, so not sure if the VE spare is held down the same way as in the VZ. I did have a wierd creaking from the rear of my ute that I traced to the spare moving sideways when "walking" the car over speed bumps and driveway gutters.
Good luck. Cheers, Mike

You get a squeak, creaking noise in the rear if you put the bolts for the lower rear arm and the shock in the the wrong way.

One bolt is longer than the other, the long one goes into the shock. (they look the same but they are not)

If around the wrong way the long bolt will foul on the control arm and cause noise.

So if been apart for springs or shocks etc check this out....

I got the exact same squeak, it's annoying as hell.
The other week i got under the car with a stethoscope and listened to every bush as i wobbled the tyre.
Turns out its the lowest bush on the rear arm just near the bottom of the shock, i confirmed it by spraying silicon spray on it and the noise disappeared for now.
Now got to find time to remove and lube it up.

could be that bush, but thats also the one you cannot put the long bolt in.

depending on how lowered you are the bolt tip may look ok but it will rub with movement on the hub.

spraying the lube may have also got the bolt that is rubbing. Not saying in your case its not the bush, but I have seen the bolt also do it. not easy to see the bolt end when on the ground, the tip is sorta right up in the corner where it comes out behind a lota crap.

I had this same problem with my ute,so I took it to pedders and it was my control arm bushes that needed some proper grease ,so they done that and now its all sweet,
