Hi all, new to this site,
ok my car is just a cruiser, nothing special 240k on the clock. At the moment my engine lacks power, goes good from standing start or if cruising and drops back no probs, but sometimes just lugs, bogs down, sounds like a truck with jake brake on but not going. Tranny has been service, leads and plugs, has k&n cold air induction on it, has headers but original exhaust, fuel filter and injectors done.
Any ideas out there, for a frustrated man

V8 or V6? Maybe take it to somewhere reputable (local sponsor if any??) and get them to run it up on the dyno (usually around $50) and if that shows nothing obvious get them to give it a general check over and maybe even a compression test. That's a long time for one of those trannies to hang together! Any chance it's slipping?

Thanks for replys,
yeh its a gen111 have asked about the cats being knackered but would that not be a problem thru the whole rev range ????
Dyno is my next option and maybe they can pin point the problem.
I know its a pretty tired engine with the amount of K's on it, but I do know there is an issue somewhere with it

Yeh Wonky, had the tranny serviced and cooler fit to it, its not like a slip when lacking power its more like its bogged down, going no where

I'd give it a compression check (worn rings) followed by a dyno run to check for valve float etc. Might be time for a new cam & springs.....
