Simple question.....Will it be worthwhile, or will it be another "Sticker Special"?
I have NO IDEA, except that I did hear that it would be black.
Cheers, Pickles.

I can't say I'm really suprised by it.

Low boost LSA, 295 rears, big brakes as standard, recaro front seats, fiberglass bonnet with vents, upgraded audio, mrc and starter button.

E3 is not that old and new motor years away.

In my opinion it will be a sticker pack with some options.

It would be unrealistic to expect more.

Hope I am wrong.

Well, there have been plenty waiting patiently to see whether or not HSV is going to up the ante against the latest S/C FPV offering. If the best they can do is black accents, then God help them......

Not only that, the FPV black edition appears that it is actually going to be something fairly special (from what has been leaked on fb) so that makes HSV look even worse, lol. But i still think HSV interior shits all over any of the ford offerings.

It was already mentioned in wheels or motor that the FPV was getting extra power + appearance in their black edition and HSV was just getting appearance mods.

2011 Melbourne motor show: HSV's new Black Editions
Toby Hagon
July 1, 2011 - 12:01AM

Limited edition Clubsport, Maloo and R8 Tourer unveiled with sinister look and lighter wheels.

Black is back with Holden Special Vehicles with its latest special edition models, which add between $3000 and $4000 to the price of the vehicles they’re based on.

As the name suggests there’s lots of black bits, much of it painted in matt black, giving the cars a sinister look.

Other than the 20-inch forged wheels – slightly wider at the front for more accurate steering response through increased grip – the mechanical package is familiar, including the 317kW 6.2-litre V8.

HSV says the first forged-alloy wheels to be fitted to one of its models also save 20kg in weight.

Inside, too, there’s matt black finishes and, of course, there’s a unique Black Edition ID badge in the centre console denoting the limited edition model; just 100 ClubSport sedans will be produced, 100 Maloo utes and 25 Tourer wagons.

Breaking the black trend is the choice of exterior colours – there’s white, red, silver, grey … and black.

HSV says all the extras on the Black Edition add up to an extra $7000 in value.

Look i know HSV have no real problems selling cars but shit, the car needs more power! How is this thing special? It's got some bling rims with some sticky crap stuck on the bumper and a fancy ID badge sitting in the centre console.

This blows, personally i find it insulting to the brand and the fans, lets not even talk about charging extra for the thing!

The poor effort they put into a "Special Edition"? Or the fact that they want extra money for it? :vpo:

Well, unless HSV are going to pull the wraps off an LSA-based GTS tonight, all they've done is further disenfranchise people who wish to buy HSV-branded cars for their performance, innovation and rarity. They have, however, ensured that they will sell heaps more generic HSVs to fringe customers - which in all probability, ensures a more impressive business return, thus forming the basis for the production of the inevitable 'sticker special' being proffered here.

I'm fairly sure people have been doing black wheels and accents for a while now...:teach:

Disappointing...

AMG Black Series = balls out insane.

Australian Black Series = stickers and painted wheels.

If they're going to steal the name of a series that demands respect they should at least attempt to do it justice. Both are a joke IMO.

FPV wins out for looks and motor, despite the fact that the motor isn't anything different to the standard model. HSV would have to have introduced an all new front bar before they'd even get a chance to compare looks wise.

Yeah a Corolla has enough power too mate, but this aint a grandpa forum, we're motoring enthusiast that like continual improvements in areas like performance, personally i think it's an insult to the brand and the loyal fanbase.

Looks good but it aint no special edition, 'Black Edition'..... Please!

So what race track do you go to to use all this power or do you drive around the streets using all 350kw plus power breaking the law.
Wankers with their power numbers!
