Hey guys ,

I've got a full 3" hurricane exhaust system fitted to my ve maloo 6.2L , now im not liking the note to much , I think it sounds more like a barky v6 then anything until you put ur foot right down. So i'm Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with deleting 2 or 4 of the resonators off there hurricane exhaust system?????? If so did you get a nicer / deeper note ??? Or if you deleted the 4 resonators and put 2 mufflers instead?? Ive used the search button but couldnt find a great deal.

Thanks.

how long has it been on for?
mine was a bit average for a few weeks, but after it carbonised it really deepened, now its great, it ages like wine!
i dont think playing with it will really change the note, just the loudness

same here with mine. i have the full 3'' system and thought the same when it was brand new but once it burnt in it sounds much better

I've got the 2.5inch version, not full (pacie centers, rear mufflers hurricanes), i tried removing the mufflers and it sounds shite, so put them back on, havn't tried anything else.

But I do agree, doesn't really sound like a V8 until you're doing around 3.5k+ RPMS

I think its been on a couple years now . Not entirely sure since I bought the car second hand.

Ive got a twin 3" Hurricane system in my VE II Ute.

100% agree. Wasnt loud enough unless i was flogging the daylights out of it.

Got a new mid section made up with only 2 resonators.

It now sounds like it should have sounded.
