View Full Version : Rear end "wiggle"...

Driving along today @ 80kmph, went over a series of shallow bumps in the road... maybe 20m of them all under the driver side of the car.

Anyway, going over the car felt a bit like it wanted to pull towards the driver side and after the bums the back end of the car felt like it wiggled...

Like, felt like a little fishtail. But really small.

Like, just enough that I felt it but not enough to have to correct the cars path.

Thoughts?

How many Km's are on the car and have you checked suspension bushes? Start simple and go from there.

Before starting anything check your tyre pressures.

Tyre pressures all even at 40psi.

Car has 120k on it.

Might book it in for an alignment and inspection this weekend.

As in had the OEM bushes replaced with solid ones?

Not sure, I will have to check.

Could be right rear shock.

Could be a combination of things but at 120k the shocks would be well past their best.

Thanks for the input guys.

I've decided to book the car in for an alignment and inspection this weekend.

That way I will know what parts I need to buy in the near future and save up for them.

My biggest concern was if it was something serious... like my wheel going to fall off.

But it's it's just worn components, then I will slowly replace them. May have to wait till early next year though since between now and then I have some other major expense so as long as I can drive the thing safely, I'll be happy for the time.

I had a VU Ute that did what your describing, ended up being a failure in the rear camber kit.

"rear end wiggle" I thought there were only 4 Wiggles?

Alright, got the car back from the suspension place.

LHR TOE Adjust arm damaged - 12mm of toe dialed in and no way to adjust it out. This would be the main reason for the wiggle as the car's weight shifts over bumps.
Rear cradle bushes worn
Front Castor rod inner and outer bushed work

So yeah, contacted the dealer and he said he is happy to fix the above up for me.
