Hi there all,
I have recently sold my exhaust system as i was selling the car, however plans have changed and i have decided to keep there car.
I want to put another cat-back + extractors and cats again, but am wondering on people's idea of the best quality muffler money can buy..?
I see alot of european brands have made up systems for lambos/ferrari's etc, but can't purchase mufflers seperately..
Can people through up some names of top quality mufflers, with money not in mind!!
Cheers,
Jamess.

Sureflow (quiet) 3.5 inch single system, with their hi flo cat's & shorty 4>1 headers. Puts a smile on my face every time I fire up my car :burnout:

I have a KPM cat back (difilippo 1&7/8 headers and ballistics cats), have had quite a few people comment on the sound even before the headers and cats went on and the quality of the finish on the cat back really is awesome... pricey though.

I got the impression the OP was asking about mufflers, not complete systems???

I have heard, but not experienced that SMB mufflers are amazing quality.

Magnaflow mufflers are nice! So deep, and gives off a slight lumpy sound, as weird as that sounds lmao

Edelbrock mufflers are supposed to be quite good. Might be worth a try.

Magnaflow, SMB, Hooker. HKS do great mufflers but way too ricey to have on the rear and not worth it.

The only comment I can make on Magnaflow mufflers is that's what KPM originally used on their VE systems and they droned fairly badly. They now use JUNBL which give a very deep sound with little/no drone.

they no longer use the junbl mufflers on the slc systems, only the older ones

I would say jun bl also, maybe go see mark at exhaust technology who deals with them his exhaust systems arnt cheap but are a work of art. He was one of the pioneers in unlocking power from the early LS1s ( anyone remember the VX files that street commodores ran in the early days?)
he also makes all the systems for KPM

Hows it sound with the flowmasters baja?
Id think they would've been a tight fit under there.

havnt fired it up yet . still doing the cooler piping , oh sorry this is for a vs grange too ...
i heard them on my mates vx ss and sounded horn nice and deep with a dual 3" system..
For fitting them under a vt-vz i say they will be ok , but measure to be 100% tho....i got them to fit under a vs grange with no fuss
here are some pics of them fitted , sorry about the quality of the pics

Toddler he made the Twin 3" i had on the car, which i just sold! i sold it cos i was at that stage going to sell the car, but now i am going to keep it and am looking at another different setup, still twin 3" but different muffler configuration, i wasn't entirely happy with the note the last system produced he custom built for me..
This time i'm thinking of going with the same x-pipe Di Filippo do (Where the two pipes only touch for 25mm, then flowing into two centre Round mufflers the same ones that they use on the FAMOUS VE systems, then flowing to the back rear muffler'S! instead of a twin in-Twin out, i want to put the two mufflers that the VE's run but obviously run them vertically! i saw on another thread that a guy with a yellow monaro had two mufflers in the rear vertically instead of the twin in-twin out idea!

definatly an interesting theory its going to be very tight to get two mufflers vertical in the one location they wont be able to be too high (wide in your application)
