I don't know about this one,I love the fact they went with v8 and sounds bloody awesome.
But on the other hand this new setup has a good starting point to make some series power.

Why is it an electric turbocharger and not an electric supercharger?

i wouldnt knock the electric supercharger, i saw a video a few years back of some one doing a legitament experiment by fitting some of these to a Civic.
He didnt use those shit ebay ones, looked like he used industrial electric air pumps, many of them and he picked up a fair bit of power

I like the comment
"I think BMW engineers have been hanging around EBAY a little too much"

Im sure BMW wouldnt put an electric T/C in one of their vehicles without extensive testing for power, durability, performance etc etc.

In my opinion they should never have gone away from the N/A 6 cylinder model.
The V8 should of been left to the M5
As for this new Tripled turboed 6 cyl :eeeeek::errr::eeeeek::errr: WTF??????

with that analogy, the M3 should of stayed 4 cylinder while the M5 stay a I6.
I just wish the the domestic market did similar things.

If BMW talk, it usually means it's going to happen..Don't like the idea of an electric turbo in between 2 exhaust fed turbo's though. There's a triple turbo 6cyl diesel getting released in September. 260kw/700nm.
why spend all that money on development when the v8 is already an awesome engine? not worth ir for an extra 30hp if you ask me. and why bother with 'triple turbo' when a single or twin would be more than adequate? I dont get it.

In Australia Euro 5 emissions are to be introduced in November 1st 2013.
In Australia all new vehicles must comply with Euro 5 emissions by November 1st 2016.
By comparison:
In the Europe, Euro 5 was introduced in September 2009 and all vehicles had to comply by January 2011.
In Europe, Euro 6 will be introduced in September 2014 and all vehicles must comply by January 2015.
In Australia Euro 6 will be introduced in July 1st 2017 and all new vehicles will have to comply by July 1st 2018. Though the official rollout is still to be confirmed closer to the date.
Maybe it’s the emissions requirements for Europe, Canada, Japan, South Korea and the USA that are the driving force for overseas companies to search for more efficient engines for their vehicles while Australia lags way behind to protect the local industry.

I love how some of the members on this forum have a greater understanding of building cars than BMW.
What will and won't work and what is a cheaper and faster way of doing things.
Maybe some of you guys should start sending your opinions directly to BMW and offer them some help on where they are going wrong - I'm sure they would be forever grateful at the untold wisdom that can be discovered on LS1.

Still a turbo down on the Veyron :1peek:
still 10 cylinders down on the veyron too! as for 73.rsr if you understand and agree with everything every car company has ever done then you've missed something. I'm no BMW executive, its simply my opinion.
