View Full Version : Price of standard VE v8 exhausts

I want to sell my exhaust from my VE ssv ute, but for example on eBay they are at like 20-50$ with no bids! Hardly worth it? Could probably get more at a scrap metal place. Aren't the standard cats worth alot? That's what I have been told anyway

I sold my stock cats on eBay and got $90 for em as for the rest of the exhaust I took it to the scrap yard

the v6 guys buy the v8 catbacks, sold mine for 150

+1 The V6 guys like them, or the rear cans at least. I've been told that due to the precious metal content of the cats you should get around $100pr at scrap metal places.

Keep it. Store it somewhere out of the way (if you have storage space available). When it comes time to sell ur car, stock goes back on, aftermarket comes off.

I would have thought the rear section would have been saleable, I have a SIDI 09 SV6 and wouldn't mind putting SS rear mufflers on. If I saw some fairly new ones going cheapish in Sydney I wouldn't mind a set.

Could be a thinker but isn't a good idea for my situation don't have the space to store it, plus there's no point me keeping the aftermarket exhaust cos my next car won't be a ute, and won't be for years and years and years.


I'll be selling it mate so keep an eye out in the for sale section and u might be keen to grab the rear mufflers. Couriers are cheap as chips these days

Sold my stock ssv rear mufflers for $100 to an omega owner who was putting a dual SS exhaust on. The middle section of the catback is worth next to nothing. The cats are worth a little more and the headers are worth next to nothing. If you see $250 out of the lot, then you've done well!

I could be convinced to take the mufflers at the right price (if they'd fit a sedan too)... For my sister!

Sorry to jack yor thread - I am wondering if anyone can save me a phone call and tell me what the OEM FULL SYSTEM would be worth from Holden brand new?

I need to replace my entire exhaust - want to be sure that any 'generic' exhaust I go for is cheaper than OEM replacement ( if you follow me.....)

PD perhaps?

So I got off my lazy proverbial and found out myself.

Prices from Holden in Canberra:

OEM Holden Exhaust
Headers $300odd each $ 650
Centre $683.10 $ 685
Mufflers $534.60 each x 2 - $1100
Cats $855 x 2 - $1700
$3685
$4100ish

How much was that KPM again....... :rofl:

Big question... Very important... Are the rear mufflers from a ute DIRECTLY interchangeable with a sedan?

Big answer - NO. :) The tail pipes on ute are much longer plus I believe the mounts may be different.

Thanks Wonks - I had these bought for my sister's SV6... but I thought I'd check!

If anyone wants this exhaust, I recommend dealing with the OP (William) He has it all at a great price, and seems very easy to deal with! Grab yourself a bargain - I wish I could have!

Him: "I sell you mine for $200..."
Me: "I just need to be sure any NEW replacement unit I get is cheaper than OEM..."
