Hi ppl...

Had a bit of an issue with my traction control this arvo. As always as soon as i started the car, the trac control gets switched off...:). the little animation came up on the screen to confirm this, and could see the TRAC OFF displayed.

after a while cruising home i noticed the little animation in the dash was coming up Tracion control off... did this a couple of times..WTF, It had been turned oiff 10 mins ago??

So i stopped at the next set of lights, and turned it back on, then off again...seemed to not come up again, could this be a button issue or wiring issue??

Mate of mine said just take the fuse out all together and be done with it, BUT, will this cause any other problems being that the fuse aint there??

Got no problems in doing it as i never drive with it on anyway, (Spoils the fun, in saying that she lights up in the wet when it's on sometimes anyway)..but just want to make sure im not gonna cause further problems with the ECU etc with the fuse not being in there..
anyone done this to theirs??....as said, just wanna make sure it's not gonna cause further issues down the track..

check to see what else runs on the same wiring loom as the trac control. if u remove the fuse nothing on the loom will work. That said removing the fuse will not harm the car in any way as all your doing is breaking one circuit not changing anything or re routing power somewhere else

Traction control is on the same circuit as your abs so by taking fuse out your abs will not function and abs light will be on.
I would find the problem vs pull fuse but that is my opinion.

You could always contact speed inc and get one of their wiring looms that reverses it so its always off you have to actually turn it on

Pulling fuse + accident = insurance denial

It sound like a code issue that the computer has, and as stated before the traction control is on the ABS, easiest way is to go to holden and get them to see if the computer has any codes, if it does, get them to clear them.

Or find someone with a V2 unit for EFILive and they can have a look, but I wouldn't be pulling any fuses, I can't see how that would fix the issue.

Thanks guys, i sort of thought it might control the ABS also...

Spoke to my local Holden dealer this morning and he has said if it's only an intermittent problem there could be an issue with a sensor, thats all...

Car will go over on saturday week for them to plug in computer and have a looksee for me. Said he wouldnt charge me for a half hour stop in and see what they can find out...

Watch this space...

BTW< thanks for reponses too...:)

Do the engine lights etc come on too or just the traction control?

Check the ignition key possition. If it occurs during start or just after, it's possibly the earth tab on the key not making a good contact during tha start up. Clean the key and the ring on the ignition barrel and see if that helps.

not sure on a vz but on a vy you can unplug the traction control under the bonnet on the passengers side. maybe do that and see what happens. might be a dirty plug.

After a bit more asking different people, i am of the same opinion that one of the sensors may be dodgy...

Guess we'll find out next week when i call into to see the guys at holden. If it is a sensor wonder what this will cost me..knowing genuine holden,alot..

the last sensor i paid for was $66. for the sensor only.
