was it auto or manual? i got a 13.1@108mph with only a 2.1 60ft in my WH,
3.45 diff gears standard stall, otr tune exhaust, so for an auto you would expect a lighter car to go a bit better, also what wheels were you using? i was running pursuities with widened rears as theyre alot lighter than running rims at the strip, also if you run rims down the strip the wide front tyres will kill your times/mph
EDIT: sorry just realised you said it was a4

Sounds about right mate my housemate and I both ran about 13.64 but I've since cammed mine (224/230 114lsa) and have been running 12.60's now but still struggling to get a good launch. It's amazing how much extra hp you need to drop that time =D

Don't really need any extra power to drop to those times, mid 12's seems fairly achievable with basic bolt ons (exhaust, stall and gears) mafless tune and some et streets.

My VX A4, otrcai + mail order tune + full exhaust + 4.11 diff ran a 13.03 and has issues with the current tyres for grip, so I need to use traction control to do it. I think you may have some more left in it.

I think there is still plenty in it!
I managed 13.24 with just tune and cat back. I have now fitted a 2800 stall and 3.9 gears and looking for a mid 12 or lower before the cam and nitrous is installed.
Decent tyres would also help your cause. ( maybe I should take my own advice) :)

Is it worth putting a higher stall behind a stock motor to help with the 60 foot time?

yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, plenty people have done it and go low 12s by doing so, some even into the 11s, thats bolt on, no power adders like cams/FI/N2o

Yeah mate - f-ing awesome! I had a 4500rpm non lock up and she was fun as! 1.68 60fts, 12.50's all day and awesome skids! :)
Others have run low 12's and some serious punters have run high 11's with the 346 unopened.
Go for it!

yes its GOOD! can it do better? you bet ya
plenty of the pro's will say i've done this and this and so on, but it's what yourve done that counts.
yes some have gone faster, but they don't tell you what they have done to achieve it, well maybe some have.
do a search on markone2 and read all the info.

Not at all. I thought mine drove better and smoother with the stall compared to bog stock..... Get a minimum 4200. :)
Ensure you get a lock-up stall as it's daily driven. TCE make nice, tight converters.

My SSv - stock - did a 13.5.. That was with rear tyres down to 22psi and spare tyre out..
catback, otr and tune netted me a 13.1 - but my clutch was knackered by then...

my SS M6 stock ran 13.9, exhaust/OTR/tune 13.4, then with 3.7 Diff 13.0
Im not the best drag driver in the world but the comparisons are valid...

My SSZ went 13.4 with MAFless tune, OTR and exhaust. Tht was with a half arsed tune though that had hardly any timing due to the fuel i had at the time. That was with 17" tyres.

Is that Auto? If so stock diff ratio? What power would how have had at that time?
With just a cat back I managed a 14.015 1st time ever at the drags. Have since had a Mafless tune and OTRCAI installed and haven't had a chance to get back to Willowbank. Hoping for a mid 13 sec.

Cheers, gives me something to aim for then. Mine made a touch over 300rwhp but mine would weigh more also.

cool.. you should be able to get a 12.8 or 12.9 no worries especially with a 3.7 diff..
what tyres you running on?

Yeah thats just in street trim - GTS 20" wheels & tyres
Its definately got a lot more potential given those are very average 60 foot times, but Im happy with that, I drive on the road with those wheels. I dont really need to put 18" semi's or DRs on just for a timeslip, given I probably wouldnt use them again...
But it would be fun, probably a good half a sec with the right tyres!
Like I said, Im not the best driver, so as I improve my launces & gear changes my times even in street trim might crack the 12s...

Mate, with those tyres you should be able to get a 1.9s 60".. just launch harder.. i launch about 4000rpm with my 20" got a best 60' of 1.89s.
Keep trying, youll get in the 12s

what would a ex chaser do down the quater mile. 5 litre form. Low 13's?
High 14 mate. Probably a 15 with no prep. 5l's are alot slower than ls1's after all

If your lucky a low 15. The old 5L were not that fast, and being a ex-chaser it would have the guts thrashed out of it.

13.4 is good. best to date was a 13.3. (m6) even after the cam it went slower then snaped a drive shaft when i went 2nd.. so embarrassing, had to tow the car from half track all the way round and past everone saying :goodjob: now its got 60rwkws more than when i ran 13.3 and ill go back soon but i thinks its all how you drive . im f@#ked at it, get to nervous. a mat of mine got the std bolt on maff tune made 240rwkws in a vy m6 ute and pulled 13.1's then he just said stuff it launched it at 4k (it made horrible noises ) and ran 12.7 12.65.. all nite. i was gutted. everyone told me to do the same but for my best 13.3 i just sat there, and took off like i was at a set of lights anything else it went slower.

Bit of a thread dig here lads but was just wondering if anyone could give me a rough estimate on what time I would run in my:
VE SS
Cammed supercharged
Auto
Stock gears
Tuned box
530rwhp
Street tyres
I know there's a lot take into consideration 60ft times, Tyres etc but just an approx time would be great..
Cheers Johnny
