hey guys,
i have about $1500, to spend, and i would like to use it for my ute. the only mods on it so far are pacemakers. i dont know wether to go otr or an catback system. if i get one mod, i wont get the other mod done until another 3-4months, ( im on a budget of $200 a fortnight :'( )

I reckon if you where willing to spanner some of it yourself you could get all 3 basic mods for $1500..

If you wanted to go 2nd hand with the OTR and Exhaust, bolt them up yourself and get a mail order tune from Chipmaster or someone and your done.

good idea $500 for 2nd hand cat back $500 for intake (probebly new) and $500 for mail order. that would work well

Although a good quality OTR and Tune package is great bang for your buck, I think if you intend on eventually fitting a cat-back, i'd probably look at doing that first in order to maximise the gain you get from the tune.

Either way, you can't go wrong ! :goodjob:

Swing the spanners, and you could get new OTR, new catback and a mail order tune for around that price I reckon.

how about this http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=151204 and mated up to these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/COMMODORE-VT-VX-VY-VZ-SEDAN-TWIN-2-5-REDBACK-SYSTEM-/160613294533?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item25654c61c5

fit the exhaust your self or even see if the tuner will do it!

A few Melbourne sponsors eg GMM, Chev's and APS are doing a $990 Ramjet OTR + dyno tune during August (see http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=151204). My feelings on the Ramjet are :( but if you are not after every single kw it's possibly OK.

That leaves you $510 for catback and fitting, which would get you a good used system or even a new XForce (see Online-Performance-Autos in Hallam on eBay - very good to deal with - contact them if they don't have one listed). Just have a listen to some XForce catback only systems because like most cheap systems some people like them, some hate them.

If you do some shopping around you may even get a new mild steel 2.5" Di Filippo for not much more as apparently they're now only around $650 new from DF themselves now and there is apparently an exhaust place in Frankston who does DF stuff pretty cheap. Along with Sureflo 3.5" (which some people love, some don't) the DF is the pick of the pre VE systems. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that a VT-VZ system sounds crap. I just don't know if the new, much cheaper than they used to be 2.5" VT-VZ systems sound the same as they used to - hopefully they do! :yup:

i would get an exhuast first. as you will need a mafles tune when you fit the OTR. just save up after and get the OTR and tune in one hit. will work out better to cuase you allready have an full exhaust system. more power:goodjob:
