View Full Version : Issue after inst of VCM otrcai
Does anyone have a clue what can be wrong.
After installation of VCM otrcai and tune (SSV 2009 AFM ute) front indicators don't work and horn is beeping constantly. Computer doesn't show anything, fuses are ok, disconnected battery still the same????
I am not a car expert (dont know much about cars) but I jst thaught someone overhere might know. Guys at the shop couldnt find the problem so I had to leave car there.
Cheers

Along the inside of the upper radiator support there is the wiring loom for the headlights and the front horn etc.. This may of been shorted somehow when the new radiator brackets were fitted. Long shot but that'd be my guess.

I would say they have pinched the wiring loom while installing the OTR
Thank you guys for helping, I appreciate it, but wouldn't computer picked up that fault?

No it wouldn't.
I had a similar issue with my Monaro when I had the windows tinted. The interior light and the lights in the doors were flashing on and off on the day I had my windows tinted after I got the car back. And the computer didn't pick up the fault.
The problem fixed itself when the mechanic took off the trim to the drivers side door. Mechanic told me that the wiring loom in the drivers door was being pinched. The interior light and the door light are all in the same circuit.
I think the previous advice you received about the loom under the radiator being pinched is fairly likely.

Something to check.. On the passenger side of the engine bay there is a post / earth that is used as part of the mount for the standard air box. To remove the air box this is loosened and if not tightened properly will cause the electrics to freak out.. I had rapid indicators + the horn intermitting going off. high beam didnt work at all.. The mechanic that fitted my original intake forgot to tighten the earth properly.
