Just picked up a gearbox for the SS & noticed the part number differs to my mates T56, both are suppose to be out from VZ's

Mine gearbox is the TUET6000 & mates is TUET2100, anyone know the difference, are these both out of VZ's??

TUET2100 appears to be T56 MM6.
TUET6000 appears to be T56 M12

MM6 is supposedly T56-1386-000-22
M12 is supposedly T56-1386-000-25 in the listings in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borg-Warner_T-56_transmission

Im thinking maybe the 2100 was fitted to vy and vz 5.7 models & the 6000 was fitted to the 6ltr vz?

Apparently the 6000 was pulled from a thunder ute, i thought the m12 was only fitted to monaro & vz r8

Yep its an M12 far better box than the MM6 I can assure you as I have done the upgrade myself. You will need an LS2 spiggot bearing for the shorter input shaft.

Thats great to know appreciate the info. I have just taken off the top plate and have noticed all the internals are covered in surface rust, not good! Seller is telling me its becuase the gearbox has been sitting without oil...even the external bolts are rusted and also the shifter! I have spoken to a few people who are telling me to just run some oil through it. Obviously a dodgy seller! What are peoples thoughts on this, i have called the seller and its not going to be easy to get my money back as he is dodgy. Now i know why he sold the gearbox in the first place, i think it was out of a water damaged car. Funny thing is he said it was from a thunder but turns out to be an m12, i thought these only came from the VZ hsv range and Monaro??
