There has been some discussions about running a 6 Hour Regularity Relay at Calder using the 3km National Track next year, sometime around March, entry fees would be about the same as other 6 Hour events, probably around $1500 per team, your thoughts?

Sorry Big Trev but its so true. he has done it that many times thats why people have the attitude they have.
all of a sudden there wont be enough money in it for bob and sure enough it will be cancelled.
bob gets head noises. he thinks ANDRA are behind everything and they are coming to get him.

No worries.
6 Hour Regularity Relays (6HRR's) are aimed at club level motorsport participants.
Currently there are 6HRR's run at Winton, Phillip Island, Wakefield Park & Mallala (that I know of)
6HRR's are NOT a race event, you are not racing other competitors you are competing against the clock.
6HRR's are a team event; you enter as a team and compete as a team
The relay part of the 6HRR is just that, the event is a relay, you have a baton to change during the 6 hours, the baton is a piece of velcro with your team number on it. Individual drivers are limited to how much time can be spent on the track during the 6 hours. Only one car from each team can be on the track at one time.
The regularity part of the event comes about by each member of the team nominating a lap time they believe they can stick to during their part of the 6 hours, Saturday is set aside for practice so that individual drivers can perfect their consistency, for example at Winton I nominate 1.44, my goal for my part of the 6 hour event is to stick as close to that 1.44 as possible, there are lap penalties for going faster than the 1.44, there are lap bonuses for sticking within 1 second of you nominated lap time, if you go more than a second slower than your nominated lap time then you only gain the lap, there are no bonuses or penalties.
When the individual drivers from each team add the times together, then divide the number by the amount of drivers, you come up with a number, this is divided by the 6 hours and you get a number of laps you would expect to achieve over the 6 hours allowing for bunus laps to be included.
That is a simplistic over-view, there are some more technicalities to the end number, but the bottom line is:
It is a team event, focussing on team-work and FUN
It is NOT a race
You race the clock not other cars
To give you an idea of their popularity:
Last weekends Phillip Island 6 Hour had 50 Teams with an average of 5 drivers and 5 cars per team (with 10 teams on the waiting list), normaly held first weekend of August
Winton's 6 Hour is the same, 40 Teams with the same average of drivers and cars (there are always teams on this waiting list too), normally held in the middle of October (Not bathurst weekend)
We did the Wakefield Park 6 Hour in July, in their 2nd year they had 19 Teams, up from 6 last year and they are expecting maybe 30 teams (their maximum) next year, held in early July
The Mallala one in held in May, I am not sure of their numbers, but I do know that a lot of Victorian teams go over for it.

Did the Wakefield event in July this year with 2 Teams and had a great weekend. Tried to get into Winton but no luck it was already full. There would be plenty very interested from here. I'd be confident of enough interest to get 2 teams in from Sydney.

You're welcome mate :)
Not so much feedback - more just stating the bloody obvious.

How much track time do you actually get?
Also, does anyone know of a 6 hour endurance type event where you can race one car (multiple drivers) for the entire time? I would love to test my car in a full 6 hour "race" type environment.
Cheers

How much track time do you actually get?It depends on how many drivers in your team, generally teams are limited to a minumum of 3 to a maximum of 6, so based on 6 drivers for 6 hours, that is 1 hour full on each, but there is also practice on the Saturday

CheersWakefield Park (near Goulburn NSW) run a 6 Hour race, it is run in July, I am not sure of what others are out there for the general public to get involved in

8hour production car race at EC later this year though it would be very $$$.
Wakefield was min 4 cars per team max 6 cars. You can share cars, we had pairs in Focus. turbo and Nissan SSS.
Trev, I was in the Red Clubman, was pleasantly surprised at passing the M3's down the front straight.
