hi ppl, just fitted a CB 2.5 xforce exhaust on my 2009 VE SS Manual. Totally happy with it no droning what so ever. Love the sound..finally it sounds like a V8 :-) Got my mate to drive it while i was outside .... nice and loud but not to loud v8 note.

I had a 2.5 x-force system fitted to my Cross 8 2 weeks ago. I know what you mean, brings a grin to my face every time I start it.

Give it time :)
It'll drone like an old house wife in a few weeks.

I had my XForce full 2.5inch system which includes the matching XForce headers and cats and i had no problem droning what so ever, Then again what i class as not droning maybe droning for other people but after 30000k's on that system i never had a problem with its sound.

I didn't know how bad drone was until I replaced the XF with Pacemaker on my 08 VE SSV.
100% improvement. Could never go back.
Car is quieter in cabin than what it was with the XF, but on the outside it sounds like it's loosing it's sh1t......love it.

I had one on my VY.
Different kettle of fish, but I'd never touch them again.
100km/h serious booming in the cabin from it. I had to turn the radio right up to hear over it.
Pacemaker system, no drama's. Though I have different extractors and cats with the new system. Even so, volume is just different all round.

XForce seem to vary markedly in drone factor. I've been in a SSV ute with XForce 2.5" which was dead quiet until the loud pedal was mashed, then sounded quite good from the inside. My daughter has one on her VY Berlina V8 with tri-ys and Ballistic cats and says absolutely no drone. It sounds surprisingly good to me at idle and low revs, though I've not heard it at WOT which is typically where XForce tend to sound crappy - raspy and hollow.
I know someone else with a cammed VE with 3.7 diff and the drone drives him crazy on trips!! He is constantly swapping from 6th to 5th on the highway just to change the pitch of the drone......... :(
I wonder whether the OP will do as many XForce owners do and once they get over the fact their car no longer sounds like a vacuum cleaner will eventually decide they sound too raspy???

Im totally happy, the sound is fantastic ... in cabin its a tad louder then stock crusing at 100 or any speed. Giving it a hiding sound awesome cant complain. Will be getting headers and hi flow cats Xforce. Cant wait to get back in it, work so much that i only get to drive it 3days a week :-(

i had a 3" xforce exhaust, with xforce headers and cats, then replaced to headers with 1 7/8 paceys with ballistic cats, had done about 70000km in it and didnt get any drone what so ever and even won a best sound award at 1 of the large cruises

the highlighted is the difference. with mine no drone at all UNTIL i was doing about 135/140 not noticable but it was there. its the harmonics of the different revs

Is it the 2.5" quite or medium catback? The quite system has no x pipe and runs a H merge inside the middle muffler, which apparently sounds alot better! (http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=149946&page=6)

The worst drone with an Xforce is when you post on this forum about it!
Many members will drone on for ages! :stick::fishing:
Hey all good mate, enjoy it. :jester: :hide:

Ive had both xforce mild and stainless twin 3'' on my VT LS3 in the past and absolutely no drone what so ever, as for sound found the mild not as raspy and deeper than the stainless. for the price they are good.

Ive heard a twin 2.5'' on a VE, sound was really good and not over loud. Ive heard a twin 3'' on a cammed VE and sound was  The XForce twin 3'' is the loudest off the shelf system, so if you have early morning starts and like to be stealth id consider something quieter.
