Hi,
I am wanting some information about the effects and makeup of nitrous?
If it was to be dispersed in a room full of people indirectly could it pose a health or fire risk????
Is it just oxygen???

the BOC supplied engine boosting N20 have sulfer in it so it makes your sick if you inhale it...

Is'nt the sulfer there only so it can be smelt if there is a leak?
Go check out the wiki link for a basic chemistry lesson.

It is about the same level of danger as any other compressed gas.
The bottle wont explode as per fast and furious if thats what you're asking, it adds oxygen to a fire but doesn't not contain any fuel itself so by itself will not explode.
I think you could get the MSDS from BOC which would have all the risks and effects.
Plenty

Increasing the oxygen concentration in a small area, enough to increase percentage to say 23.5% would make this an explosive atmosphere and could enable certain things to self ignite just from say static etc.
A safe oxygen level is classed as between 19.5% and 23.5% oxygen.
It's basically what it does in your car, increases oxygen content to make a bigger "bang".

As Dale said Engine Boosting Nitrous oxide has sulpher in it so you can't inhale it. Medical grade does not contain sulpher

Apparently it can make your voice squeaky if you party on it too long. It can also cause mild brain damage long term as evidenced -

It's an oxidizer, not a fuel.
Oxygen is a product of it being burnt, oxygen fuels the fire and so on and so on.
Effectively chemical supercharging.

For a minute there I thought you where refering to a "LOX is a Salmon fillet that has been cured. In its most popular form, it is thinly sliced—less than 5 millimetres (0.20 in) in thickness—and, typically, served on a bagel, often with cream cheese, onion, tomato, cucumber and capers"
Liquid Oxygen does sound better though - but BOY O BOY it could turn Space Shuttle like if slightly wrong...
