So put the OTR on the other night in my VE SSV and wondering what people have done regarding the rocker breather tube. Mine only juuuuuust reaches the OTR and sits at a funny angle and the tube pops off from the new plug in the OTR. The one way valve stays on the original breather tube but I would rest easier knowing the tube was where it should be and not floating around in no mans land....

Solutions?

The other thing I am now confused with after searching on here is wether or not there should be a one way valve on the breather stopping air going into the rocker cover.
Is the purpose of this tube to vent gases out of the rocker cover or to allow fresh air into the rocker cover???

Mine is the same as yours, it didn't quite reach. I just got a piece of rubber tubing with a 1.5cm pipe and connected the breather pipe to it, and the rubber extension into the rubber grommet in the hole in the otr. I assume its to get clean air in/out of the rockers, as its in the otr after the filter - happy to be corrected.

It's there to supply air to the rocker cover. As for your problem. Buy longer hose.

mate had the same problem, posted here and rang VCM, the simple answer is use a heat gun and heat it whilst it is hot you can straighten the tube to make it longer.

Or like others said cut it and put another piece on it.

Cheers guys will try get somewhere that can sell me a small length of tube.
So it's to allow air both ways? So I shouldn't have a one way valve in it?

I think the one way valve you are talking about is the pcv valve [positive crankcase ventilation] which is a sort of one way valve. I found this bit of info on the net which pretty much tells it all.
[The blowby vapors that end up in an engine's crankcase contain moisture as well as combustion by-products and unburned fuel vapors. The crankcase is sealed to prevent the escape of these gases into the atmosphere, but the vapors must be removed to prevent oil contamination that leads to sludge formation. The positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system siphons these vapors from the crankcase and routes them into the intake manifold so they can be reburned in the engine.

Vrollin, there should not be a one way valve in the tube or hose from the rocker cover. The air usually goes from the otr into the rocker cover but can also go the opposite way if there is exessive blowby. The air coming into the rocker cover should come from the filtered side of the otr so that the air is clean.

I reported this issue to VCM when they first came out.
This is the only poorly designed part of the OTR.
Wouldn't be too hard for them to lengthen the fitting I wouldn't have thought.
I extended my pipe by cutting it and using some hose to lengthen.
