Hey,

I need a new radiator for my VY SS and wondering if anyone used or had any problems with the radiators on ebay?

I would prefer using genuine parts but I think there is quite a large price difference so if I know the ebay items are are ok quality (ie will last longer than 12 months!) I will probably look into one.

Thanks

You can some times get genuine radiators cheaper than the e-bay ones :):) just go to your parts supplier and ask :) I got mine through a mate who owns a shop and even he said he was shocked that the genuine was cheaper than the aftermarket one :)

Thanks guys. I forgot about Holmart, but i'll see what my local dealer quotes me. Because of it my car is off the road so prefer to get one local - that way not at ransom to courier companies. Cheers

Found the Holmart & EBay ones to be crappy & told by a repairer some are almost impossible to replace tanks as there cheap china copies.
I got an original with 2yr warranty for around twenty bux more than the cheapies.

Cheers

Thanks Ill steer clear of the Holmart and ebay jobbies. Last thing I want is having to replace it again in the time I own the car!

Managed to find a genuine Holden Calsonic radiator on ebay for $300 delivered so will prob go with that, pending my local dealer getting back to me.

Quick question, pulled the old rad. out tonight and when I took off the trans lines I was expecting fluid to come out the end tank but it was completely dry. Is this normal?

Fairly sure mine leaked a little oil out.

Could be mistaken though.

I have been running mine for 3 or so years now & no issues . I'm not 100% sure but by memory it was 2 or 3 year warranty when I purchased mine .

Great guys to deal with & based at Maroochydore , so for me fast delivery or you can pick up . I placed an order thismorning & i'd say it will be here tomorrow .

I had the same when I removed my trans lines, had/has me worried a little.

Yeah I wouldve thought the fluid into the tank would be pressurised to some extent, unless there is a thermostat on the trans fluid line?

It's a bypass cooler so there's very little pressure/flow in there.

I bought one from that place too and have had no problems with it so far.
Good customer service too.

My radiator looked to be the original so lasted almost 150 thou kms. Bought that genuine one from ebay, as Holden wanted $360+gst. Im sure the ebay ones are fine, I'm just a stickler for genuine parts
