Hi guys just a quick question ive recently bought a set of AP,s for my ute i had them sandblasted and re sprayed the probblem i have is when installing the passenger side front one put the brake line on bango bolt in done up half way nice started to tighten didnt think anything of it so out came the spanner
done it up a few turns and it just tightened had a look and it wasnt all the way in so took it out and thread in caliper is stuffed on closer inspecton found sand blasted on the thread i did blow them out and got them cleaned but didnt expect it to be where it was,,so to cut a long story short is there anyway of fixing it or am i looking at a new caliper for 300 pound..thanks

hey Mate
With the sand being in the fluid gallery i would be looking to disassemble the caliper and give it a thorough cleanout. You will need new piston seals etc and maybe boots incase you tear them when disassembling. As even if one grain of sand remains in there it will scratch and score the piston or the bores causing brake fluid to leak.

^ this, also I'd crack the Bleeder and pump a heap of Metho through it making the Fluid In line the lowest point before I tried to pull the pistons so hopefully it washes any Sand out as Will said 1 grain will trash the Calliper..
