As the title says I've stupidly managed to lock myself out of my vx ss, the battery isn't connected since I've been replacing some electrical components. I got home opened my bonnet, got out of my car and locked it being in zombie mode, than I proceeded to disconnect my battery went inside to have some lunch and closed my bonnet.

Is there a way to get my bonnet opened from the outside? And yep my keys won't turn the lock just makes a click noise guessing since its dead locked.

If you twist the key hard enough in the lock, it will unlock from memory.
Feels like you going to snap the key but it will go.

Wish i had known this a few weeks ago when my car battery died in a clearway. I was lucky i had my drivers window open a touch and managed to get the lock up after some swearing and knuckle busting

a long screwdriver from under the car also works to pop the latch on the bonnet

Maybe if the boot has a key, if you can open the boot then pull the yellow handle inside to open the seat port ,and go through to the cabin that way.

Not if you have an LPG Cylinder in the boot!!

Jack it up and hook a jumper lead on the starter and you should be able to unlock it. Have seen it done when locks/handles have been shaved ;)

If you can open the boot you would be able to put 12V back through the boot light wires enoguh to open the car
Not that I tried it but pretty sure it would work :p

This was discussed a couple of weeks back, one of the guys suggested the same thing using the Alternator B+ post, probably easier to get to than the starter!

Just went into town to post a parcel went to unlock the car NOTHING....

Tried the Key wouldn't turn.. argghhhh the curse of the recent thread I'm thinking..

DOH I had the Keys to both cars in my pocket and grabbed the wrong ones.... :jester:

The yellow handle in a vx is to manually release the boot solonoid (in case this fails), and doesn't undo the rear middle seat - so this would not work. It could be different on other VXs - but it doesnt work on my VX SS.
