Hey Guys,
I have recently purchased a VE SS V, and all the previous work was done at APC in Perth. Im looking at a Duspeed OTR and mafless tune this week, so should i stick with APC or is there a better option in Perth?

I've always bought my OTR's direct from Dus. Bit cheaper from past experience and Dus has always been great to deal with.
Most places will be able to get them if you want to go that way. The usual suspects will all do a decent job IMO... WA Perf, Actives, SQP would be top of my list

There are some forum sponsors that are based in Perth.

Aslong as you stay away from Formula Tech with all there flashy crap you should be fine. Depending on where you are if your close to malaga area like myself then MCE Motorsports would be a good option as they are based in wangara

I am sure there a some good ones NOR, but the ones i have used, i would not go back - and as such do not warrant mentioning..
Those 3 shops i mentioned are the only ones whom work on the car - i've learnt the hard way and once you find a good one, stick with it..

Most that have been said are good but from personal experience I'll go +1 for WA performance. Mitch was extremely helpful and is passionate about what he does.
I don't trust easy and felt comfortable leaving my car there for work to be done..

I ended up using APC in Malaga as they had originally done the work on the car. With the new Dus i reeled off 386rwhp. A trip to the drags is on the cards. I would like to know what MPH and 1/4 I could run with the M6 and 386hp

To be fair and honest anyone here will be making guesses. There are too many variables. How long is a piece of string?? Go run the car and will give you a starting point and just go have fun

House of Power gets my vote. Rob is such a great guy to talk to and has a bank of knowledge too! took my SS (LS1) there and he squeezed 400+rwhp out of it. was stoked!

You've got 4 very good shops named here..
Just pick up the phone, or get in your car, and go chat with them... The ones that get named the most in this thread are probably, no, they ARE a very good start point.
No need for polls...

Has anyone had any experience with Australian performance centre in Malaga?
Because I've had the previous work Inc mafless I would get an $1000 discount of their cam packages. Starting this thread really has opened my eyes to other shops..

The "Discount" would most likey be because you have previously had a Dyno Tune and they would touch up the tune for the cam. I would prefer to spend the extra and get a Dyno tune just for the cam.
You will be looking at $1000 for a cam tune at most shops in Perth. If they are giving you a discount and a Dyno tune I would be looking at where else are they making money in the install.

I had an OTR and maffless tune done there previously , however the guy that did that work is no longer employed there , so while I wasnt too happy in the past ( I got Eddy at Actives to fix the problem ) its different guys doing the work now.

Not gonna bag the shop but a member on the proutes site (jacewoody) took his car to get a supercharger put on including tune etc etc and eventually he took it out of there on the back of a flatbed to actives because after a few months they couldn't get the supercharger set up right and ended up destroying his engine which had to be replaced. This was a few years back so i am not sure who it was working on the car from that shop and you would want to hope they are not still there.
I found this out by asking the question about getting tunes from them back when i first got my car as they were the closest known shop to me.

wow thats not good news to hear!!
I spoke with owner for 30-40 mins when i picked my car up after the mafless and Dus, and he said they used to have another store/s, but they closed them due to the work not being 100% (franchisees).
Basically the cam packages start at $3300 with APC ($2300 for me), ill fire off a few emails to the other performance houses stating what discount I can get at APC, and see if they can help me out.

I dont know about the franchise bit , the owner was based at the one near the city ( had lots of exhausts there ) and the mechanical / tuning was done at Malaga..They closed down the one near the city and combined it all at Malaga. The mechanic that was based at Malaga left not long after.

Justin at BYE definitely knows his stuff. A lot of shops seem to talk about other shops purely because they're forever fixing their f@ck ups and the original shop don't want to know you once you've paid the bill.
