Cruise Control acting weird ..

My '03 VY1 SV8 has had a problem with cruise for a LONG time, but I think that it's slowly getting worse. When coasting downhill it will be on-and-off the accelerator quite abruptly. It never did this new. If I turn off the cruise and just coast downhill it's OK, which seems to point to cruise and not the engine/drivetrain.

I'm wondering if the assembly needs to be lubricated or something? (which is not done as part of the normal servicing)

Is this a normal VY foible?

If it's tuned I suspect it's dfco cycling to abruptly. Seen it before where tuners run it a tad to aggressively to get maximum fuel saving benefits but it can lead to drivability issues like your experiencing.

Yeah, if you turn off the CC while smoothly going down the hill and gently feather the throttle on and off, do you still get a jerky ride?

Nope .. works "normal" without CC.

BTW: Stock setup .. no edit, no CAI, no MAFless, etc ..

I've seen this before where the speed sensor is dicky and can effect cruise drivability. Never on an LSx but you never know.
