You know when u have a new car and you shut the door and it's a nice solid thud. Well my VE ute drivers side door is starting to sound crappy when I shut it. Dunno if I'm being picky but it sorta disappoints me when it happens. Anyone have the same problem, and know how to fix it?

Was going to say it's most probably door seals getting harder or the soft ones expanding but......if it's only drivers door then it must be something to do with that side being used more.
my 2c of advice ......check adjustment.

If my window is down it sounds crap when you close the door, it never used to it's only just started doing it.

My drivers door sounds like it wobbles after I shut it, and it moves around a fair bit when driving. I live with it, had issues with it during warranty but was obviously only short fixed because my issues kept coming back.

Not the same problem but i have noticed my driver side door sounds like it moves a little bit when you go over bumps etc..
My doors are fully dynamatted inner & outer but if the window is down a bit it does sound like shit when you shut it, i put it down to the window wobbling or something.

Check that the door rubber is still fully seated all the way around, especially near the dashboard. I had an auto elec do something on mine last week and afterward couldn't work out why a) the door was a bit harder to close and b) had lost the nice clunk. Eventually discovered that he hadn't pushed the door rubber right back on near the dashboard. Admittedly it shouldn't come off if you've never had any work done there, but may be worth a check.

Yeh as ss317 said, I just found out it's only when the windows are down. Today has been the first day I've driven around all day with the windows down haha since I only got the ute Easter this year, first windows down weather haha

Ah, OK. Definitely agree then - with window down it doesn't give anywhere near the same nice thud. :(
