Finally got a set of brakes.
Ended up getting them from the US of A, who would have thought?
Only thanks to feistl :goodjob::goodjob::goodjob::goodjob::goodjob:
AP racing 6 pot 362mm
AP racing 4 pot 343mm
Came with ds2500 pads, nuts, goodridge (something like that) braided lines.
The first thing you notice is they are HUGE. and the rotors arent as heavy as i would have thought.
Should be insane on my next track day.nothing better brake cos out of $$ now. hahaha
What sucks is i have to wait 3 weeks or so to get them installed. Can only drop off the car on a Saturday.
But for the moment i have brought 1 upstairs.. The way art should be. Mrs thinks im an idiot tho but what would she know about art????

The caliper looks strikingly similar - apart from no logo - to the OEM HSV / AP-Racing Ultimate kit fitted to Y-GTS, Y-GTS Coupe, Z-SV6000, etc
What are the part numbers on the calipers? I've got some technical dwgs if you want to have a look at them.
Good pick up by the way - you'll love their capacity to stop, repeatedly, from big speeds.
cheers

hey guys,
i'll post the details here...
Bought from a shop in USA, the brakes were for sale on the ls1gto forum (link to thread (http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=417597))
shop link (http://www.haddadmotorsports.com/)
I could have got them for a little bit less but i wanted paypal (goods not personal) as a just in case (only 100usd different).
price in AUD
4200 brakes
450 shipping (shipped weight 65.8kgs, 5 biz days to my door)
250 custom taxes (yes i know its not 15% off the brakes+shipping)
total door to door was $4938
Parts #'s are AP4000SR & AP4050SR
They are being sold for the 2004 Pontiac GTO which should bolt straight up (VZ Shape)
The caliper looks strikingly similar - apart from no logo - to the OEM HSV / AP-Racing Ultimate kit fitted to Y-GTS, Y-GTS Coupe, Z-SV6000, etc
i perfer the AP Racing logo over the HSV but everyones different. And from my understanding its the same kit just branded differently.
i was prepared to pay around 4k, maybe 4500MAX for a 2nd hand set, found a few but heaps didnt come with braided lines so that would be another $300ish....
Anyone other info needed let me know :)

Well, you don't have a HSV, so of course you prefer the AP-Racing logo...:stick: :lmao:
Not a bad price all things considered. FWIW - I paid $5500 for my set which were brand new, but secondhand, in 2007, so given the fact that these things are very difficult to source new, you've done well.

Thanks heaps Macca,
and yes dont have a hsv:hide:.....but very happy with my SS:driving::burnout::burnout:
there are so many "buts" if the AUD was crap then it wouldnt have been worth it. But if the AUD was at $1.10 i would have tried to buy 2.. hahaha
Been looking since June, i nearly bought a set of a wrecker for 4300 not inc braided lines. Then i get an email saying look at these... would have sucked big time if i got the 2nd hand ones for just about the same price.
havent told mrs about the $850 sway bars i will be getting before next year :hide::hide::hide:

These are some great brakes. The improvement when i got braided brake lines fitted was massive, so good work on going the whole lot at once.

My mate with his evo said he also noticed a huge difference in fitting braided lines (brembo 4pots).... im hoping my difference will be a bit bigger :hide: esp on the track :)
Awesome brake package.
Thanks, hopefully they will be installed in the next 2 or 3 weeks. i'll do a write up and post up a few photos as well.
and then another write up on the next track day i do.

Look what I found on ebay.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HSV-AP-RACING-BRAKE-SET-COMMODORE-VZ-VY-VX-VT-VU-VS-VR-/150659383314?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2313ffc012
these are the ones I nearly bought for 4300….he talked so much crap tho and you can see in the 2nd photo where the rim has ripped a bit of the paint off. Although it’s a lot worse in real life.
How did the fit up go? Straight bolt on?

was a straight swap over.... the only small issue was my braided lines didnt come with the brackets but that was an easy fix.
