battery help

hi might need a new battery on my vxr8 have been told they are nickel silver type i thi correct if so does it have to be replaced with the same or can i use a lead cell battery and will that charge to 100 percent car is 08 year cheers rick

Regular lead/acid battery will be fine

From having read your My Ride thread I know that by VXR8 you don't mean a VX R8 (HSV) but the English VE HSV R8. If you intend keeping the car for a few years you could do what many of us have done with our VEs here and put in an Optima D34. More expensive up front but much more overhead for accessories etc and should last longer.

the stock battery is a AG9 a silver calcium.
