So I gave my new front guards a trial fit today on my VX SS, everything lined up well.
I did manage to break the plastic that the bumper clips onto on the side at the front of the guard :( I should pay more attention to where I sit things and not step backwards onto them  if anyone has a wreck or something hook me up :)
Just need them to be painted now can't wait!

Who painted that front door? Looks as rough as a golf ball.
Waiting to see the guards all painted up.

Yep its factory, though it doesn't look as bad as the pic my camera on the phone does some strange things.

I was just thinking about the indicator wires, I have to change the plug on the original wiring, theres only 2 wires, does it really matter which wires go where (like a standard light) or do these need to actually be wired up properly?

by the looks of it its a VX guard with the VZ fluted part stamped/cut into it.\
no way a std VZ guard is going to bolt up to a VX (without chaging front lights and a host of other parts)

think the linings would be different vx/vz.....
I had thes ages ago on my VX clubby, U can either buy the fluits and weld them in your self, they come with the recess etc....
Or u just buy the whole guard with them in already donw for U, much easier.....
Orange peels bad for factory job, maybe get your painter to do not so gooda job so it matches :)

Yep these are aftermarkert gaurds, I was told they altered a vz gaurd mold to suit the VX/VT style headlight.
A few places sell them, the same ones are listed on ebay (everyones selling tool these days) cost me $200 for the pair and $60 frieght, I got the flutes from a mate who had done the mod to his VY though had an accident last year so i figured better being on my car than his shed :P I had priced them brand new and genuine at around $160 so you could get them cheap from a wrecker I would assume.
Yeah when I uploaded the pic i was shocked at the look of the orange peel, walked outside and couldn't notice it that much so I'm guessing the cam has altered the lighting etc with its auto focus crap, I was actually going to get that door done too someone decided they would scratch it a few months back. So I may aswell get the rest of the car detailed while im at it.

then I dont get what you are asking  to literally take your question for what it is then yes you can, once you take the head light out as that would be the only thing fowling it up. all the mounting points are the same.

Don't worry neither did I, note to self, don't post blind and half asleep. Op had me thinking he put a vz guard on.
My bad

Are these aftermarket guards?.
I have the vents I would like to install on my VX and not sure if it is better to get the Aftermarket ones ready for the vents or get mine modified.

Just get new clips from Holden. They're cheap as anyway... But you'll likely find they don't clip in 100% to the aftermarket guards anyway. My bet is the bumper will keep popping out. Hold it in with a screw or two in the lining, on each corner near the wheel.

The bumper doesn't connect to the guard it clips into the plastic bracket "which I broke :( ", which is screwed into the front of the gaurd I grabed one from a wreck for nothing and it fits perfect.
Every hole on these aftermarket gaurds have lined up perfectly, the shape, curves and size is spot on, for $100 per side for the guard it's cheaper than getting holes cut, the metal rolled and brackets for the vents welded on.

Cheers mate.
Was a bit worried about the quality and fit of the after market ones , when I was throwing around the idea. Based on your positive, I will have to look into some myself.
As you stated there are a lot of them on ebay from different sellers. What place did you source yours from? Do you have a link if from ebay.? (probably all the same distributor)
Thought I might use the ones from SSV, at least it is a shop I can go back to if any issues with fit.
