Hey guys,

Just wanted to know if anyone uses or knows of some good mechanic workshops in Cranbourne?

I'm moving there in about a month and just want to know what my options are.

Cheers,

Yep, well aware of that. Now which one of them would you take your car to?

I have had mixed reports on chev's and hpf, I've had nothing but positive reports about G+D and APS and haven't heard of LSX Garage before.

But alot of this was coming from a "cousin of a mates dog" source. So I would rather hear first hand where people on here, who love their cars, take them with confidence.

Cheers,

I'd recomend Chevs, he does all the work on mine and takes the time to explain it all to you, Nothings ever to hard for Chev, Big Rob and the guys.:goodjob:

APS and LSX Garage seem to have good reps and plenty of business from people on here however I havent used their services but they seem to know their stuff so they get a :goodjob: too

Never had any need to have any work done at Chevs, but I've never heard a bad report about them either....seems to keep his customers pretty happy.
Cheers, Pickles.

You're fairly safe with any sponsor down in that neck of the woods - simply choose who you can relate to the best.

Chev's and HP-F have done work on my cars and Luis from APS has helped me out with some tuning pointers - I cannot fault any of them.

cheers

G&D have done all the work on my Monaro, highly recommended. In fact the car's going there for a normal service this week, as I've had enough of the city dealership.

there has been a mass exodus from G&D since matt and more recently glenn left.

If you're just after general servicing and mechanical repairs try http://www.peerlessautomotive.com.au/

I've been taking my cars to him for about 6 years now. He doesn't own a dyno or do any tuning though.

I've been a customer since G&D were in Cranbourne and continue to be well looked after since Matt's and Glenn's departures too.

To original poster, probably best to do a quick tour of the closest three workshops, have a chat with the guys and decide for yourself.

I used G&D when they were in Cranny but found when the new owners took over and set up in Dandenong the whole vibe of the place changed and instead of being a group of guys keen for the best outcome on your car they seemed (IMHO) to become primarily focussed on making money. I had my SSV sedan tuned there initially - felt OK but the dyno sheets I got were very optimistic (around 30rwkw higher than Chev's dyno and I know Chev never cheats on dyno runs), both initially and after G&D retune.

After that I started using Chev and have never looked back!! :goodjob: Very friendly shop and will never try to upsell - complete no BS honest advice.

+1 What I always recommend to people as you need to feel comfortable with whoever looks after your car. I know Matt at HPF and Luis at APS as well as the guys at Chev's obviously and you won't go wrong with any of them. Don't know anything first hand on the Pakky place.

Brett is the tuner, former G&D...

And thats why I go there for all my stuff.

thats good to hear. i've been asked by a few people in the last month or so about my tuner, all previous G&D customers.

but yeah, definitely go to the workshops and choose the ones you are most comfortable with.

+1 for chevs. I have delt with some of the others. But I personally felt the most comfortably with the boys at chevs. But as been said do a tour around and see which one you like best.
Good luck.

+1 for Chevs. He looks after me and my blown GTS and I have no complaints.

No BS and will go out of his way to ensure his paying customers are getting exactly what they ask for.

Hmmm... leaning towards chev's since he's had a fair few props plus he's pretty close to my location.

Plus I know his service price is pretty good.

Thanks for the input guys.

Spiers Automotive. Though not with the clubby since I'm only had that since May and it's due for a service in Nov.

But all my other cars, my fiancee's car and my mums car had their services there.

Another recommendation for Chev, the cleanest workshop I've seen, service is second to none and nothing is a problem. He has a genuine customer focus and loves the cars as much as we do.

+1 for Chev's. Does not matter what you are getting done big or small, Gary and the boy's will look after you and no bullshit, they tell you how it is, not what they want you to hear like other places.
